Slovak Republic - Hungary 79:67

Slovak Republic claimed the second straight win at the 2015 EuroBasket Qualifying Round Group D. They held off visiting Hungary today for 2-1 record. Michal Batka (204-PF-87) recorded 19 points to lead the hosts. Hungary fell at 1-3 record after the loss.
Slovak Republic got to a brisk start. They earned a 23:14 lead after ten minutes. Slovak Republic rallied to a 43:28 halftime advantage. Hungary increased the tempo in the third term. They unloaded 24 points but Slovak Republic withheld the challenge and entered the fourth frame up by 14 points. Hungary cut the deficit in the fourth frame but Slovak Republic held on to win the game. Peter Dorazil (199-F/C-89) netted 15 points and grabbed 8 rebounds for the winners. Milan Ziak (190-G-88) and Richard Grznar (189-PG-91) finished with 11 points each for the hosts. Adam Toth (208-F/C-89, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) answered with 12 points for Hungary. Krisztian Wittmann (184-PG-85, agency: FCM), Balazs Simon (187-PG-80, agency: TSS Management) and Csaba Ferencz (195-F-85, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) chipped in 11 points each in the loss.

MBK Handlova (SBL) strengthened their roster with addition of 24-year old Swiss point guard Jeremy Landenbergue (189-93, college: Cuesta JC). He has played for the last three years at BC Boncourt Red Team in Swiss LNA league. In 24 games he recorded 10.1ppg, 2.4rpg, 2.0apg and 1.1spg last season. Landenbergue's team made it to the Swiss Cup Final Four in 2016. He represented Switzerland at the World University Games in Gwangju (South Korea) two years ago. MBK Handlova (SBL) inked 23-year old American guard Marcus Tyus (185-79kg-94). He just graduated from Omaha (NCAA). Tyus has played there for the last five years. In 32 games he recorded very impressive stats: 17.1ppg, 3.0rpg, 1.7apg and 1.6spg last season. Tyus helped them to make it to the final. A very good season in his career as he was voted to All-Summit League 2nd Team. As mentioned above he is just out of the college and it will be his first season in pro basketball. Handlova signs Brooks just out of college - 3 hours ago
MBK Handlova (SBL) signed American guard Doug Brooks (193-91kg). He just graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University (NCAA). Brooks has played there for the last four years. In 35 games he had 5.6ppg, 2.9rpg, 1.9apg and 1.6spg last season. Brooks helped them to make it to the final after they ended regular season as second best team.
