American Anthony McClain (213-C-88) had a very impressive game in the last round for Nitra and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 35.
The 24-year old center had a double-double of 18 points and eleven rebounds, while his team beat Nova Ves (#6, 15-16) 108-99. Nitra maintains the 3rd position in Slovakian Extraliga. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Nitra will need more victories to improve their 20-11 record. It was one of impressive evenings for McClain as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Anthony McClain averages this season 11.6ppg and 6.8rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 34-year old former international power forward Martin Rancik (204-F/C-78) of Inter Bratislava. Rancik impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 20 points and 13 rebounds. Of course he lead Inter Bratislava to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Handlova (#9, 7-24) 100-64. Inter Bratislava's 4th position in the standings has not changed. His team's 17-15 record is not bad at all. Rancik is a newcomer at Inter Bratislava and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 24.0ppg (#2). He also registered 8.0 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was American Timothy Frost (208-C-80) of Nova Ves (#6). Frost scored 25 points and grabbed six rebounds. Despite Frost's great performance Nova Ves lost 99-108 to the higher-ranked Nitra (#3, 20-11). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Nova Ves ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 16 games, recording just fifteen victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Frost could help Nova Ves to bring them higher in the standings. Frost has a very solid season. In 4 games in Slovakia he scored 14.5ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Aco Mandic (204-C/F-84) of Nova Ves - 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists
5. David Noel (199-G/F-84) of Nitra - 15 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists
6. Mirza Ahmetbasic (193-G-87) of B.Bystrica - 21 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists
7. Justin Graham (193-G-88) of Inter Bratislava - 13 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Dijuan Harris (175-PG-86) of Prievidza - 21 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists
9. Jeremy Simmons (204-F-89) of Levice - 14 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Peter Sedmak (207-C-85) of Inter Bratislava - 19 points and 7 rebounds

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
