Here is the weekly review of the top performing Slovakian players, who play currently abroad.

Anton Gavel
Anton Gavel
#1. This week's number one is an international point guard Anton Gavel (188-84, agency: Pro One Sports, currently plays in Germany), who plays in the German BBL. He could not help Brose Baskets Bamberg (21-5) in their last game. Despite Gavel's very good performance the league leader Brose Baskets Bamberg lost 64-77 on the road to the much lower-ranked (#16) Deutsche Bank Skyliners. He was the top scorer with 22 points. Gavel also added 5 rebounds and 3 assists in 35 minutes on the court. It was Brose Baskets Bamberg's third consecutive loss in a row. It's Gavel's fourth season with the team. He is currently seventh on the list of top scorers with 14.5ppg. Gavel also averaged so far 2.9rpg, 3.1apg, 2FGP: 59.6%(68-114), 3FGP: 45.8%(49-107) and FT: 81.0% in the 24 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Slovakian and German. Gavel is currently a member of the Slovakian senior national team.

Radoslav Rancik
Radoslav Rancik
#2. Second place goes to an experienced former international power forward Radoslav Rancik (207-79, agency: Beo Basket, college: St.Cloud St., currently plays in VTB United League), who plays in Czech Republic. He was not able to help CEZ Nymburk (5-12) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Rancik's very good performance the eighth-placed CEZ Nymburk was defeated 76-63 at home by the second-ranked CSKA Moscow in the group B of VTB United League. He was the top scorer with 26 points. Rancik also added 6 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). His team will play only one more game in the VTB United League Regular Season. And that game will be critical. Rancik belongs to league's top scorers and is ranked #6. He has individually a very good season with high stats. Rancik averages: 15.7ppg, 4.5rpg, 1.2spg, 2FGP: 49.4%, 3FGP: 40.8% and FT: 81.4%. Former BK Inter Bratislava starter played for the Slovakian national team in 2010.

Pavol Losonsky
Pavol Losonsky
#3. The Slovakian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international forward Pavol Losonsky (203-88, college: Cal-Irvine, currently plays in United Kingdom). He was the major contributor in a Leicester Riders' victory against the sixth-ranked Newcastle Eagles 80-69 in the British BBL on Wednesday night. Losonsky scored 17 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 26 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his second season in pro basketball. Jelson Homes DMU Leicester City Riders (25-2) is placed first in the BBL. It was his team's eighth consecutive victory in a row. Losonsky has relatively good stats this year: 14.8ppg, 6.6rpg, 1.8apg, 2FGP: 54.2%, 3FGP: 32.1% and FT: 71.3% in the 23 games. He is also a member of the Slovakian senior national team.

Roman Marko
Roman Marko
#4. Shooting guard Roman Marko (194-86, currently plays in Czech Republic) led BK Prostejov to a victory over the fourth-ranked NH Ostrava (18-12) 82-72 in the Czech Republic NBL in Saturday night's game. Marko was MVP of the game. He scored 21 points and grabbed 8 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). BK Prostejov (19-10) is placed second in Group A1. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. There are only four games left until the end of the Second Stage. So now every game is very crucial. It's Marko's first season with the team. Marko's overall stats this year are: 9.5ppg, 4.1rpg, 2.4apg and 1.3spg. He is another player who holds two passports: Slovakian and Czech Republic. Marko is also Slovakian national team player.

Dusan Pandula
Dusan Pandula
#5. International small forward Dusan Pandula (196-84, currently plays in Czech Republic) is a teammate of previously mentioned Roman Marko. But that was another game of his team in Czech Republic NBL which we would like to mention. Pandula contributed to a BK Prostejov's victory against the fifth-ranked BC Kolin (17-13) 84-72. He recorded a double-double by scoring 10 points and getting the same number of rebounds. BK Prostejov (19-10) is placed second in Group A1. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. This season Pandula has relatively solid stats: 12.2ppg, 4.6rpg, 2.6apg and 1.2spg. He plays currently for the Slovakian national team.

Justin Sedlak
Justin Sedlak
#6. Power forward Justin Sedlak (205-87, college: Florida Tech, currently plays in Sweden) helped Solna Vikings win their game against the closely-ranked Sodertalje Kings (24-9) 68-61 in the Swedish Basketligan in Friday night's game. Sedlak scored 10 points in 24 minutes. Solna Vikings (20-13) is placed sixth in the Basketligan. Sedlak has reliable stats this year: 11.8ppg and 5.3rpg in the 33 games. He is a former international player as he played for the Slovakian senior team three years ago.

Martin Miklosik
Martin Miklosik
#7. Former international center Martin Miklosik (225-86, currently plays in Czech Republic) helped B&W Opava win their game against the fourth-ranked Levharti Chomutov (12-21) crushing them 90-69 in the Czech Republic NBL last Saturday. He scored 11 points and blocked 2 shots. BK Breda & Weinstein Opava (13-20) is placed third in Group A2. It was his team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. There are only three games left until the end of the Second Stage. So now every game will be important. Miklosik's overall stats this season are: 5.4ppg and 5.1rpg. Worth to mention Miklosik played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball. He used to play for the Slovakian national team three years ago.

Martin Sykora
Martin Sykora
#8. Swingman Martin Sykora (192-81, currently plays in Czech Republic) was not able to secure a victory for Basketbal Svitavy (10-23) in their game against Levice (18-15) in the Czech Republic NBL. He cannot count Monday's game as one of the best ones. Sykora scored only 3 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Basketbal Svitavy (#5) was badly defeated 93-74 on the opponent's court by the leading Levice in the Group A2. There are only three games left until the end of the Second Stage. Sykora's overall stats this season are: 5.4ppg and 3.8rpg. He plays currently for the Slovakian national team.

The list of other players, who all have Slovakian passport but never been selected to any of Slovakian national teams:

#1. Peter Simek (205-C-88, agency: Dynamics Global Management, college: Cal-Irvine, currently plays in United Kingdom) led Surrey Heat to an easy victory against one of league's weakest teams Cheshire Phoenix (9-21) crushing them 108-84 in the British BBL last Saturday. He had a double-double by scoring 14 points and getting 13 rebounds in 27 minutes; not bad, considering it's only Simek's third season in pro basketball. Surrey Heat (18-11) is placed fifth in the BBL. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This year Simek's overall stats are: 6.4ppg and 5.4rpg in the 27 games he played so far.

#2. Experienced Stefan Svitek (203-F/C-77, currently plays in Luxembourg), who plays in the Luxembourg Diekirch League could not help Basket Esch (4-0) in their last game. Despite Svitek's very good performance Basket Esch lost 82-88 at home to the leading Contern in the Places 7-10 group. He recorded 19 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists in 38 minutes. There are only two games left until the end of the Second Stage. Svitek averaged so far 14.4ppg, 8.8rpg and 1.8apg in the 20 games.
