Turkey claimed the third straight win at the 2013 EuroBasket. They rallied past Slovak Republic to earn the top spot in Group A. Tugba Palazoglu (171-G-80) stepped up with 12 points to lead the winners. Slovak Republic finished at 1-2 record in the third position in the standings but still made it into the next round. The teams stayed toe to toe throughout the first frame. The scoreboard read 12:12 at the first break. Turkey surged ahead in the second term. They opened the quarter on a 9:0 run to clear off. Turkey ran away to a 32:20 halftime advantage. They maintained it well throughout the third period. Turkey accumulated a 51:38 advantage heading into the fourth frame. The margin quickly grew at 20-point mark midway through the fourth frame and Turkey cruised to the win. Nevriye Yilmaz (194-C-80) notched 11 points, while Quanitra Hollingsworth (196-C-88, college: VCU) and Bahar Caglar (186-F-88) had 10 points each in the win. Anna Jurcenkova (195-C-85) answered with 10 points for Slovak Republic. Lucia Kupcikova (184-F-84), Eva Kmetova (188-C-87, agency: Regeneracom Sports) and Romana Vynuchalova (192-C/F-86, agency: Regeneracom Sports, college: Penn St.) had 7 points each in the loss.

Ruzickova scored 8 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 28 minutes on the court.
Venezia lost 56-60 on the road to the higher-ranked (#3) Lucca.
It's Ruzickova's fourth season with the team.
This year she averages: 9.8ppg, 8.1rpg, 1.1apg, 1.4spg, 2FGP: 47.7% and FT: 51.4% in 27 games she played so far.
Ruzickova is currently a member of the Slovakian senior national team.
#2. Second place goes to an international center Klaudia Lukacovicova (195-90, currently plays in Sweden). She was not able to help Udominate in their game against Lulea Basket (22-5) in the Swedish Damligan.
Lukacovicova recorded only 4 points in 18 minutes.
The league leader Udominate was crushed 69-41 at home by the second-ranked Lulea Basket.
Lukacovicova is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's her fourth year in Udominate's roster.
This season her overall stats are: 9.6ppg, 4.9rpg, 1.3apg, 1.3spg, 2FGP: 46.7% and FT: 57.7% in 19 games.
Ex-MBK Ruzomberok player is in the roster of the Slovakian senior national team.
#3. The Slovakian player who performed third best last week abroad was former international forward Veronika Remenarova (188-97, currently plays in Czech Republic). Remenarova managed to help Valosun KP Brno to win against the eighth-ranked Basketball Nymburk (16-6) 59-56 in the Czech Republic ZBL in Wednesday night's game.
She recorded only one point and grabbed 4 rebounds.
Valosun KP Brno (16-6) is placed second in Play-Offs group.
It was her team's eighth consecutive victory in a row.
Remenarova's total stats this season are: 8.4ppg, 3.9rpg, 1.1apg, 1.6spg, 2FGP: 54.7%, 3FGP: 35.7% and FT: 70.9%.
She played for the Slovakian national team two years ago.
#4. Guard Gabriela Kubatova-Leskova (171-84, currently plays in France) contributed to Roche's victory against the seventh-ranked Montbrison (14-12) 69-56 in the French LF2 (second division) last Sunday.
Kubatova-Leskova recorded only 4 points and added 3 assists in 18 minutes.
Roche Vendee BC (22-4) is placed second in the LF2.
Kubatova-Leskova has been at the team for eight years.
This season her total stats are: 4.7ppg, 1.3rpg and 2.9apg in 21 games.

FINAL Good Angels - Piestanske C. 69-55 Good Angels repeated as Extraliga champions. They stormed past Piestanske Cajky to complete the sweep of the championship series. It was a great evening for the former international point guard Zuzana Zirkova (175-80) who led her team to a victory scoring 18 points and 5 rebounds. Slovenian point guard Teja Oblak (172-90) helped adding 13 points. The best for the losing side was the former international Sabina Oroszova (190-93, college: E.Illinois) with 10 points and 5 rebounds and the former international Terezia Palenikova (179-95) scored 8 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. MBK Ruzomberok overcame Samorin to celebrate Extraliga Bronze. The game without a history. MBK Ruzomberok led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a good game for American forward Janae Smith (188-92, college: UAB) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds. Lucia Kelcikova (176-96) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Four MBK Ruzomberok players scored in double figures. The former international power forward Romana Vynuchalova (192-86, college: Penn St.) answered with 21 points and Canadian forward Kalisha Keane (185-89, college: Michigan St.) added 6 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Samorin.
