Inter Bratislava - B.Bystrica 97-75

Inter had little problems cruising past Banska Bystrica in Bratislava. Inter thus swept the series and advanced into the semifinal stage. The game without a history. Inter Bratislava led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a quality performance of the former international power forward Martin Rancik (204-78, college: Iowa St.) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 6 rebounds. American-Belizean guard Marlon Garnett (188-75, college: Santa Clara) helped adding 20 points. The best for the losing side was swingman Maros Rendla (195-88) with 16 points and 7 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and Croatian guard Sven Smajlagic (193-90) scored 17 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.

Nova Ves overcame Prievidza to gain 2-1 lead in the series. The teams will meet again on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Nova Ves. Prievidza managed to win third quarter 27-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 23-of-29 free shots (79.3 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Prievidza helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for American point guard Maurice Acker (178-87, college: Marquette) who led his team to a victory scoring 32 points and 8 assists. His fellow American import point guard N'Gai Evans (188-88, college: Wright St.) helped adding 21 points and 9 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American forward Joseph Harris (196-87, college: Co.Carolina, agency: Dynamics Global Management) with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and international Michal Batka (204-87) scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. Five Nova Ves and four Prievidza players scored in double figures. Prievidza's coach Krunoslav Krajnovic rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help.

Nitra spurred ahead in the series versus Svit following a tough home victory. Nitra forced 19 Svit turnovers. It was a great evening for the former international center Branislav Tomek (205-83) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds. Slovenian guard Maj Kovacevic (190-90) helped adding 17 points and 6 rebounds. Four Nitra players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Ravone George (193-83, college: Alabama) with 21 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import guard Wesley Channels (190-88, college: Austin Peay St.) scored 14 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

Komarno outrebounded Handlova 48-34 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was a great evening for American forward Kevin Thompson (205-89, college: Morgan St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import forward Amin Stevens (198-90, college: Florida A&M) helped adding 22 points and 12 rebounds. Four Komarno players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was international Roman Vido (204-88) with 21 points and 9 rebounds and American center Zack Crimmins (213-89, college: Columbia) scored 20 points and 8 rebounds.

Newly promoted PP TV Raj Zilina (SBL) added to their roster American point guard Walter Wright (178-75kg). He just graduated from Montana (NCAA). In 31 games he recorded 10.6ppg, 1.8rpg and 2.9apg last season. As mentioned above Wright is just out of the college and it will be his first season as a pro. Inter Bratislava and Iskra Svit continue friendly campaigns, however suffered the latest defeats. Umana Reyer rolled over Inter Bratislava 101-69. The Italian side dominated from the start of the game and never looked behind after. Umana Reyer won the first period 26-16 and enjoyed a 55-29 halftime advantage. Apoel adds Fleming to their roster, ex Iskra Svit - 5 days ago
Cytavision Apoel Nicosia (Division A) added to their roster American forward Josh Fleming (198, college: Ferris State). He played last season at Iskra Svit in Slovakian SBL league. In 43 games he had 10.3ppg, 4.8rpg and 2.2apg. Fleming helped them to make it to the Slovakian Cup Semifinals. The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others his college team won GLIAC Tournament for two years in a row (2015 and 2016).
