Here is the weekly review of the top performing Slovenian players, who play currently abroad.


Maja Erkic

   #1. This week's number one is an international swingman Maja Erkic (183-85, currently plays in Spain). She was the major contributor in a Rivas Ecopolis' victory against the seventh-ranked Gran Canaria (7-10) crushing them 91-58 in the Spanish LFB in Saturday night's game. Erkic recorded 14 points and grabbed 4 rebounds (made all of her six free throws) in 23 minutes on the court. Rivas Ecopolis (16-1) is placed first in the LFB. It was her team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This year Erkic averages: 6.6ppg, 2.0rpg in the five games she played so far. She is currently a member of the Slovenian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international power forward Eva Komplet (182-86, currently plays in Croatia). Komplet contributed to an easy victory against one of league's weakest teams Studenac Omis (4-11) crushing them 94-57 in the Croatian A1 last Saturday. She scored 9 points. Lupa Promotion Novi Zagreb (16-1) is placed second in the A1. It was her team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. Komplet's overall stats this season are: 7.0ppg, 2.3rpg, 2FGP: 68.8%(11-16), 3FGP: 33.3%. She is in the roster of the Slovenian senior national team.

   #3. The Slovenian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international guard Martina Dover (177-86, currently plays in Croatia). Dover contributed to Gospic's victory against the sixth-ranked KK Zadar (7-10) 66-52 in the Croatian A1 on Saturday night. She scored 6 points, grabbed 7 boards, passed 4 assists and added 4 steals in 34 minutes. Gospic Croatia Osiguranje (16-1) is placed first in the A1. It was her team's 15th consecutive victory in a row. Dover has relatively good stats this year: 10.6ppg, 5.0rpg, 2.2apg, 2.4spg, 2FGP: 48.9%, 3FGP: 42.1% and FT: 72.7% in the 16 games. She is also a member of the Slovenian senior national team.

   #4. Forward Lea Jagodic (182-91, currently plays in Italy) led San Martino to an easy victory against the tenth-ranked San Salvatore (8-15) crushing them 79-50 in the Italian A2 (12th division) in Sunday night's game. Jagodic scored 18 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Fila San Martino Di Lupari (20-3) is placed second in North group. It was her team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. This season Jagodic has relatively solid stats: 14.0ppg, 6.6rpg, 1.1apg and 1.9spg. She is also Slovenian national team player.

   #5. International center Tina Trebec (189-90, agency: Kotnik Sports Agency, currently plays in Czech Republic), who plays in the Czech Republic ZBL could not help Basket Slovanka MB (8-16) in their last game. Despite Trebec's very good performance the fourth-placed Basket Slovanka MB was crushed 74-51 on the road by the second-ranked VS Praha in the A2 group. She was the top scorer with 16 points. Trebec also added 9 rebounds in 38 minutes. There are only four games left until the end of the Second Stage. So now every game will be important. It's Trebec's first season with the team. She has reliable stats this year: 14.3ppg and 4.4rpg in the 18 games. Trebec plays currently for the Slovenian national team.

Nika Baric

   #6. Point guard Nika Baric (169-92, currently plays in Russia) managed to help Spartak Vidnoe Moscow Region to win against the eighth-ranked Dynamo-GUVD (4-11) crushing them 86-56 in the Russian PBL on Sunday night. She recorded only 2 points. Spartak Vidnoe Moscow Region (10-4) is placed fourth in the PBL. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be extremely important. Baric's overall stats this season are: 6.1ppg, 1.1rpg and 2.5apg. She is an international player who is currently on the senior Slovenian National Team roster.

   #7. Former international guard Katarina Ristic (174-84, currently plays in Sweden), who plays in the Swedish Damligan was not able to help Solna Vikings (3-1) in their last game. Despite Ristic's good performance Solna Vikings (#2) was crushed 67-40 in Norrkoping by the lower-ranked (#3) Dolphins in the Group 1. She was the top scorer with 13 points. Ristic also added 4 rebounds in 33 minutes. They ended the series of four consecutive victories. There are only two games left until the end of the Second Stage. This year Ristic's overall stats are: 8.5ppg, 2.5rpg, 3.5apg and 1.8spg in the four games. She used to play for the Slovenian national team two years ago.

Ana Ljubenovic

   #8. Power forward Ana Ljubenovic (182-88, currently plays in Italy) contributed to an easy victory against the seventh-ranked Udine (12-11) 73-57 in the Italian A2 (12th division) last Saturday. Ljubenovic scored 8 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Interclub Muggia (9-14) is placed ninth in North group. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. Ljubenovic belongs to league's best rebounders and is ranked #4. She has very reliable stats this season: 13.8ppg, 10.0rpg and 1.5spg. Ljubenovic used to play for the Slovenian national team back in 2011.
