Zlatorog defeated Heios 75-73 and won the first stage of Slovenian Telemach League Championship.
Zlatorog-Helios 75-73: Zlatorog had their largest lead of the game at 52-43 late in the third quarter. Miha Fon (194-G-84) and Matic Rebec (180-PG-95) hit back-to-back 3-pointers to ignite a 15-2 run that pushed Helios' advantage to 62-56. The visiting team still lead 69-65 with 1:20 left, but Zlatorog scored seven straight points to take a lead 72-69. Damir Rancic (199-G-83) tied the game at 72 with a 3-pointer with 17 seconds left. Zlatorog's Sasa Mucic (202-F-83) hit the first of free throw and missed the second with 8 seconds into the game. Dejan Cigoja (205-F-88) steal the ball with two seconds remaining and a pair of free throws to secure the win. Miha Lapornik (192-G-93) came of the bench for 18 points, Dejan Cigoja scored 18 points and Luka Lapornik (195-G-88) added 14 points.Helios' Djordje Majstorovic (209-C/F-90) juts missed a double double with 18 points and 9 rebounds and Damir Rancic added 17 points.
Hopsi-Elektra 75-64: The home team scored seven straight points to take a lead 50-45 late in the third period and never looked back from there. After trailing 51-54, Hopsi made a 12-0 run to go up 66-51, the largest lead of the game. Goran Jagodnik (203-F-74, agency: Beo Basket) scored 18 points and grabbed 13 points, Hugh Robertson (198-G-89, college: S.Florida) netted 13 points, Isiah Martin (203-F/C-89, college: Indiana St.) added 11 points and Mirko Mulalic (195-F-88) had 10 points. Elektra was led by Andrej Podvrsnik (186-G-87) who came off the bench for 19 points and 8 rebounds and David Collins (213-C-85, college: Bradley) had 10 points and 8 rebounds.
Maribor Messer-Slovan 80-87: After trailing 48-51 early in the second half, Slovan made a 13-2 run for its third straight win. Stipe Modric (206-F-79) finished with 25 points, Dejan Mlakar (192-G-88, agency: Global Sports Plaza) scored all of his 18 points in the second half, Jan Span (189-PG-92) added 13 points and Nejc Buda (211-C-91, agency: Kotnik Sports Agency) 10. Maribor used all of 12 , but its bench players were outscored by opposing reserves 25-51. Esmir Rizvic (213-C-82, college: Texas Tech) posted 15 points, Bojan Jovanovic (186-G-82) added 12, Jure Pelko (190-G-90) 11 and Igor Josipovic and Elvis Sarkinovic (195-G/F-85) both scored 10 points.
Rogaska Crystal-Tajfun 79-75: Rogaska snapped a nine-game winning streak for Sentjur in the local derby, the longest in the club history, They take a lead at 23-20 middle through the second quarter and never looked back from there. They had their largest lead of the game at 61-50 early in the final period. Sentjur cut the deficit to two, 67-69, with 3:28 remaining, but Rogaska secured the win. Boban Tomic (190-G-88, agency: Alti Sport) came off the bench to score a game-high 19 points on an efficient 7-of-8 shooting, Tadej Horvat (196-G-87) added 16 points, Semir Smajlovic (209-C-87) had 12 points and 12 rebounds, Milos Miljkovic (204-F/C-84) added 11 points and Tadej Kostomaj (186-G-87) posted 10 points.Sentjur was led by Tadej Ferme (187-PG-91) and Mladen Primorac (210-C-90) who both scored 17 points, Emir Zimic (215-C-86) collected 13 points and 11 rebounds and Anze Pelc (190-G-90) added 11 points.
LTH Castings Mercator-Grosuplje 59-67: Newly promoted Grosuplje recorded back to back wins for the first time this year. After tyinf at 50 with 4:11 into the game, Igor Tratnik (206-C/F-89) sank two 3-pointers and Boris Jersin (183-G-85, agency: Kotnik Sports Agency) added 2-pointer for a crucial 8-0 run to go up 58-50 with 40 seconds left. Sasa Zagorac scored 22 points for Grosuplje and Igor Tratnik had 16 points and 8 rebounds. LTH outrebounded Grosuplje 32-25, but the shot just 2of-15 behind 3-point lane and missed 10 free throws. Pavle Boljkovac (190-G-85, agency: Kotnik Sports Agency) was the lone scorer in double figures with 10 points.

Gasper Okorn to continue his coaching career in Kuwait - May 19, 2013

Coach Gasper Okorn will not remain head coach of Geoplin Slovan Ljubljana in the next season. Olimpija beat Krka to stay alive - May 17, 2013

Union Olimpija beat Krka 73-68 in Game 3 to avoid a sweep in the finals. Jaka Blazic (196-G-90) scored 14 of his game-high 17 points in the first half, Drazen Bubnic (206-F-86) and Jasmin Perkovic (205-F-80) both poured in 11 points and Klemen Prepelic (191-G-92) came off the bench for 8 assists. Grosuplje hires coach Mihevc - May 13, 2013

Grosuplje reached an agreement with head coach Dejan Mihevc , who inked a one-year deal with the Telemach League side. Mihevc, 35, arrives from London Leopards, to which he helped to win the 2011-12 British EBL Divison one title Mihevc is the assistant coach of the U-20 Slovenian national team and he also coached the U-16 Slovenian national team from 2008-2010.
