The Regular Season in ACB is slowly approaching the end. But there may be still some important changes in the final standings in the last 5 rounds. The round was rather attractive and full of interesting results. The round ended with defeat of the leader, extra overtimes, derby games and favorites losing the games.

Top ranked Real Madrid (25-4) recorded its fourth loss at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were edged by eighth ranked Blusens Monbus (15-14) 64-61. The guests trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 3 points. Blusens Monbus made 17-of-18 free shots (94.4 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Robbie Hummel (203-89, college: Purdue, agency: Priority Sports) who scored 19 points and 7 rebounds. His fellow American import swingman Benjamin Dewar (196-81, college: L.Superior) chipped in 14 points. Naturalized Montenegrin power forward Nikola Mirotic (207-91) produced 12 points and 6 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Blusens Monbus maintains eighth place with 15-14 record. Real Madrid at the other side still keeps top position with four games lost. Blusens Monbus are looking forward to face FIATC Joventut (#10) in Badalona in the next round. Real Madrid will play on the road against G.Canaria 2014 (#6) in Las Palmas and is hoping to win this game.

Defending champion Regal FC Barcelona keeps the third position with ten games lost. G.Canaria 2014 will play against league's leader Real Madrid at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Regal FC Barcelona will play against Asefa Estudiantes in Madrid and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Bottom-ranked Assignia Manresa managed to get a sixth victory on Sunday night. This time they edged thirteenth-ranked UCAM Murcia 103-100. Troy DeVries stepped up and scored 25 points for the winners. Joe Ragland responded with 23 points and 7 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Assignia Manresa maintains eighteenth place with 6-23 record. UCAM Murcia lost third consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 18 games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Assignia Manresa will meet league's second-placed Caja Laboral in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. UCAM Murcia will play against Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (#14) in Madrid and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
A very interesting game took place in San Sebastian. It ended with only two-point home defeat of 17th ranked Lagun Aro GBC (8-21) to sixteenth ranked Cajasol (11-18) 77-75 on Sunday evening. Tomas Satoransky nailed 16 points for the winning side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Cajasol moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Lagun Aro GBC at the other side keeps the seventeenth position with 21 games lost. Cajasol's next round opponent will be higher ranked Unicaja Malaga (#9) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lagun Aro GBC will play against Valencia Basket (#4) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
We should mention about the upset which took place in Madrid, where higher ranked Asefa Estudiantes (13-16) lost at home to fifteenth ranked Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (11-18) 70-74 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was Leonardo Mainoldi who had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Baloncesto Fuenlabrada have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Asefa Estudiantes lost eighth consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with 16 games lost. Baloncesto Fuenlabrada will face UCAM Murcia (#15) on the road in the next round.

Other games of round 29 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
CAI Zaragoza crushed Unicaja in a road game 88-68. FIATC Joventut was beaten by Valencia at home 74-92. CB Canarias won against Blancos de R. on the opponent's court 92-76.
The best stats of 29th round was 27 points and 11 rebounds by Bojan Dubljevic of Valencia.


FCB Regal - G.Canaria 2014 70-73

Important game to mention about took place in Barcelona. Sixth ranked G.Canaria 2014 (17-12) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 3rd placed Regal FC Barcelona (19-10) 73-70 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Regal FC Barcelona. Regal FC Barcelona was ahead by 9 points after three quarters before a 23-11 charge of G.Canaria 2014, which allowed them to win the game. Dominican forward Eulis Baez (198-82, college: W.Illinois) orchestrated the victory by scoring 13 points and 7 rebounds. Australian swingman Brad Newley (199-85, agency: Beo Basket) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Brazilian-Italian point guard Marcelinho Huertas (191-83, agency: Edge Sports) answered with 11 points and 5 assists and naturalized American point guard Brad Oleson (191-83, college: Alaska-Fairb., agency: Duran International) added 15 points in the effort for Regal FC Barcelona. Four Regal FC Barcelona players scored in double figures. Regal FC Barcelona's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. G.Canaria 2014 maintains sixth place with 17-12 record, which they share with CAI Zaragoza. Defending champion Regal FC Barcelona keeps the third position with ten games lost.
