The Regular Season in LEB Gold just ended. Very exciting round. It does not happen too often that three games need overtime in just one round. There were many interesting games last round. The round ended with change at the leadership position, extra overtimes, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

Round 26 in LEB Gold means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Burgos where host Ford Burgos (22-4) beat league's leader River Andorra (22-4) 76-68 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of River Andorra. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 37-25 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Ford Burgos outrebounded River Andorra 42-22 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American forward Lucas Sikma (203-89, college: Portland) who scored 10 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. point guard Daniel Lopez (187-82) chipped in 14 points. Ford Burgos' coach Andreu Casadevall used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Austrian Anton Maresch (191-91, agency: Two Points) produced 12 points for the guests. Ford Burgos have an impressive seven-game winning streak. Ford Burgos keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Andorra.

In the last two games of round 26 FCB Regal II defeated Lobe Huesca in Barcelona 80-77. Breogan smashed Clavijo at home 85-56. Palencia won against Melilla on the opponent's court 91-84. Ourense managed to outperform Planasa NV in a home game 86-83. Coruna managed to beat Forca Lleida on the road 75-68.
The best stats of 26th round was 28 points and 10 rebounds by Ondrej Starosta of Planasa NV.

Lobe Huesca - FCB Regal II 77-80

There was a minor upset when higher ranked Lobe Huesca (11-15) was edged at home by twelfth ranked FCB Regal II (11-15) 80-77 on Friday. The guests trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 24-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great shooting night for FCB Regal II especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. The best player for the winners was Croatian swingman Mario Hezonja (202-95) who scored 21 points. Swedish swingman Marcus Eriksson (196-93) chipped in 22 points (perfect from downtown making all six shots !!!). American forward Jamar Samuels (200-89, college: Kansas St.) produced 14 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Eric Sanchez (181-82, agency: Dynamics Global Management) added 11 points respectively for the hosts. Five Lobe Huesca players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. FCB Regal II moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Lobe Huesca.

No shocking result in a game in Lugo where fifth ranked Leche Rio Breogan (14-12) smashed 10th ranked CB Clavijo (10-16) 85-56 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Leche Rio Breogan. CB Clavijo was better in fourth quarter 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was Dutch power forward Roeland Schaftenaar (211-88, college: Oregon St.) who scored 19 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Lithuanian guard Gintaras Leonavicius (194-83, agency: Players Group) chipped in 11 points. Latvian forward Mareks Mejeris (208-91, agency: Players Group) produced 6 points and 7 rebounds and center David Mesa (202-80) added 11 points respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Leche Rio Breogan maintains fifth position with 14-12 record. CB Clavijo lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh place with 16 games lost.

The best player for the winners was Croatian power forward Mateo Kedzo (206-84) who scored 18 points. American point guard Ashton Gibbs (188-90, college: Pittsburgh) chipped in 16 points. Czech center Ondrej Starosta (215-79) produced a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field) and American forward Edward Cage (203-78, college: Bradley) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Ourense maintains thirteenth position with 9-17 record. Planasa NV at the other side keeps the eleventh place with 16 games lost.
