Croatian center Marija Rezan (198-C-89) had a great game in the last round for second-ranked Perfumerias, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 19. The 23-year old player had a double-double of 18 points and 14 rebounds, while her team crushed Burgos (#6, 7-10) with 23-point margin 83-60. Perfumerias maintains the 2nd position in Spanish LFB. They are still close to the very top. Perfumerias would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 13-3 record. It was one of impressive evenings for Rezan as usually she does not deliver so high stats. Marija Rezan averages this season 7.5ppg.
The second best player in last round's games was 28-year old American Bernice Mosby (186-F-84) of Conquero. Mosby had a very good evening with 29 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Conquero lost that game 72-85 to slightly higher-ranked Caja Rural (#8, 7-11). Conquero is still second from the bottom in the standings. Her team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 5-11 record. Mosby is a newcomer at Conquero, but is already one of team's top players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.5ppg (#2). She also registered 6.8 boards per game.
Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Rachel Allison (185-PF-87) of Burgos (#6). Allison scored 22 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Despite Allison's great performance Burgos lost 60-83 to the higher-ranked Perfumerias (#2, 13-3). But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Burgos ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 10 games, recording just seven victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Allison could help Burgos to bring them higher in the standings. Allison has a great season in Spain. After 17 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.6ppg (best scorer) and rebounds with 7.8rpg (5th best).
Other top performing players last week: 4. Leticia Romero (176-SG-95) of Gran Canaria - 15 points, 2 rebounds and 5 assists 5. Amy Denson (186-F-84) of Caja Rural - 15 points and 10 rebounds 6. Tatiana Gomez (193-C-81) of Hondar.-Irun - 13 points and 10 rebounds 7. Vanessa Ble (190-F/C-91) of Gran Canaria - 17 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists 8. Ziomara Morrison (193-C-89) of Rivas Ecopolis - 10 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists 9. Dionne Pounds (174-F-84) of Caja Rural - 20 points and 2 rebounds 10. Aneika Henry (193-C-86) of Rivas Ecopolis - 6 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
