The Regular Season in Basketettan just ended. The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Akropol as it allowed them to take a leadership position in North. Akropol defeated one of their biggest challengers LF Future in Spanga 74-70. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of LF Future. It was a key game for the top position in North. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 38-31 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Akropol dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to LF Future's 32. They outrebounded LF Future 38-23 including a 31-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Akropol looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Richard Hartmann (201-89) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. Naturalized Greek forward Athanasios Kalpakas (198-84) contributed with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Naturalized Australian swingman Timothy Kearney (200-86) replied with 23 points and 5 rebounds for LF Future. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. LF Future at the other side keeps the third place with five games lost.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Boras II (15-6) against fifth ranked Malbas (13-9) on Sunday night. Visiting Boras II was defeated by Malbas in Malmo 85-72. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Boras II. American point guard Dwight Bankhead (181-83) scored 25 points and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Korab Ferizi chipped in 20 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. Malbas' coach Henrik Svensson allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side forward Mohamed Nefatti (196-84) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds. Malbas moved-up to fourth place in South, which they share with Jarfalla. Boras II at the other side keeps the third position with six games lost.
An interesting game for Akropol (18-4) which played road game in Vallingby against 4th ranked KFUM Blackebergs (14-8). Second ranked Akropol had an easy win 94-70. Richard Hartmann notched 18 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort. Even 21 points and 5 rebounds by Nicklas Bergstrom did not help to save the game for KFUM Blackebergs. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Akropol keeps a position of North leader. Loser KFUM Blackebergs keep the fourth place with eight games lost.
We should not miss a home victory of eighth ranked Hoganas (11-11) over higher ranked Jarfalla (13-9) 91-87. Evaldas Juozapaitis fired 24 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Hoganas' coach Nerijus Strazdauskas used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Hoganas moved-up to seventh place in South, which they share with Haga Haninge. Newly promoted Jarfalla keeps the fourth position with nine games lost.
Basketettan top team - Taby Basket (17-4) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat eighth ranked Fryshuset (9-13) in Stockholm 79-66. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Fryshuset. It was a very good performance for Jon Jonsson who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Taby Basket have a solid three-game winning streak. Despite that victory Taby Basket went down to second position (North) due to points difference. Loser Fryshuset dropped to the ninth place with 13 games lost.

Other games in round 22 were not that significant.
In North LF Future beat Uppsala KFUM on the road 73-68. Alvik Basket was destroyed by Blackeberg on its own court 65-86. Orongo managed to outperform Alvik Basket in Sundsvall 78-76. Jarva Devils recorded a loss to Solna Branten at home 65-82.
In South Eos defeated Helsingborg on the opponent's court 83-73. Sanda was smashed by Talje in a home game 54-83. Eskilstuna lost to Brahe Basket on the road 60-70.


Group North
Blackeberg - Akropol 70-94

An interesting game for Akropol (18-4) which played road game in Vallingby against 4th ranked KFUM Blackebergs (14-8). Second ranked Akropol had an easy win 94-70. The game without a history. Akropol led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Akropol made 7 blocks. Forward Richard Hartmann (201-89) notched 18 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Oliver Kumbi (191-89) supported him with 18 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Four Akropol players scored in double figures. Even 21 points and 5 rebounds by center Nicklas Bergstrom (205-78) did not help to save the game for KFUM Blackebergs. point guard Gino Panghulan (175-90) added 15 points for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Akropol keeps a position of North leader. Loser KFUM Blackebergs keep the fourth place with eight games lost.

Uppsala KFUM - LF Future 68-73

No shocking result in a game when third ranked LF Future (17-5) beat on the road 10th ranked KFUM Uppsala (9-13) 73-68 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 20-11 charge, which allowed them to win the game. LF Future looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a very good performance for naturalized Australian swingman Timothy Kearney (200-86) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws). Guard Erik Edin (184-91) contributed with 18 points for the winners. LF Future's coach Jim Enbom used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Swingman Simon Ezra (197-94) replied with 23 points and 6 rebounds and center Odin Lindell (205-90) added 11 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for KFUM Uppsala. LF Future have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain third position in North with 17-5 record having just -1 victories less than leader Brahe Basket. Loser KFUM Uppsala dropped to the ninth place with 13 games lost.

Basketettan top team - Taby Basket (17-4) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat eighth ranked Fryshuset (9-13) in Stockholm 79-66. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Fryshuset. The game was mostly controlled by Taby Basket. Fryshuset was better in third quarter 21-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a very good performance for forward Jon Jonsson (201-87, college: Oklah.Christian) who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. Guard Mikael Banks (191-81) contributed with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Nathan Dawit (189-94) replied with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Rami Ghanem (183-93) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Fryshuset. Rather expected game when 7th ranked Alvik Basket (10-12) was smashed by fourth ranked KFUM Blackebergs (14-8) in Bromma 86-65 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by KFUM Blackebergs. Alvik Basket was better in fourth quarter 15-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Alvik Basket 47-35 including a 34-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Quite impressive performance for center Nicklas Bergstrom (205-78) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points and 13 rebounds. Tim Schuberg (-95) contributed with 10 points and 8 assists for the winners. Anton Juhlin (-91) replied with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Marten Melinder (194-92) added 14 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Alvik Basket. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. KFUM Blackebergs maintains fourth position in North with 14-8 record. Newly promoted Alvik Basket keeps the seventh place with 12 games lost.

There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Orongo Dragons (10-12) edged 7th ranked Alvik Basket (10-12) in Bromma 78-76 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 9 points after three quarters before their 29-18 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Quite impressive performance for power forward William Gutenius (205-92) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Daniel Eliasson (190-92) contributed with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Orongo Dragons players scored in double figures. Guard Marten Melinder (194-92) replied with 20 points and 5 rebounds and guard Gustav Hansson (182-95) added 8 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists in the effort for Alvik Basket. Alvik Basket's coach Torbjorn Gehrke tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Orongo Dragons moved-up to seventh place in North, which they share with defeated Alvik Basket.

Solna Branten's coach Christer Sjogren used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Omid Behboudi (191-86) replied with 18 points and center Sermed Hasan (208-91) added 12 points and 4 assists in the effort for Jarva Devils. Four Jarva Devils players scored in double figures. Everything went according to plan when third ranked IK Eos (16-6) defeated on the road 11th ranked Helsingborg (5-16) 83-73 on Saturday. IK Eos forced 26 Helsingborg turnovers. Strangely Helsingborg outrebounded IK Eos 54-27 including a 31-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Helsingborg was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for guard Gustav Nystrom (189-89, college: Hope) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points, 6 rebounds, 12 assists and 4 steals. Center David Hult (204-89) contributed with 24 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Forward Filip Sjostrom (198-90) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds and forward Niklas Sellin (197-91) added 10 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Helsingborg. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Helsingborg's coach Rachid El-Hallah rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Quite impressive performance for point guard Mario Blazevic (180-93) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 8 assists and 4 steals. Forward Ludvig Swanstrom (196-96) contributed with 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Talje Knights players scored in double figures. Guard Alexander Russom (191-95) replied with 18 points and guard Jordan Peltier (188-95) added 12 points in the effort for Sanda Basket. Sanda Basket's coach gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Talje Knights moved-up to sixth place in South. The hosts were already 12 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 26-18 Jarfalla's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 91-87 at the end of the game. Hoganas made 16-of-19 charity shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Jarfalla 39-20 including a 26-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Hoganas players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Lithuanian guard Evaldas Juozapaitis (189-84) fired 24 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Lithuanian center Martynas Kuksta (203-89) chipped in 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks. Hoganas' coach Nerijus Strazdauskas used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Very important is a road loss of third ranked Boras II (15-6) against fifth ranked Malbas (13-9) on Sunday night. Visiting Boras II was defeated by Malbas in Malmo 85-72. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Boras II. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Malbas's pressure prevailed and they won that period 30-23 extending their advantage to 13 points. They made 18-of-23 charity shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Malbas forced 19 Boras II turnovers. American point guard Dwight Bankhead (181-83) scored 25 points and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Kosovan power forward Korab Ferizi (201-85) chipped in 20 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. Four Malbas players scored in double figures. Malbas' coach Henrik Svensson allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Cavalieri is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Brahe Basket's coach Demetrius Poles used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Spanish forward Lluis Jacas (198-90) replied with 23 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Pontus Oksman (185-92) added 10 points in the effort for Eskilstuna. Four Eskilstuna players scored in double figures. Brahe Basket keeps a position of South leader. Eskilstuna lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 13 games lost.
