Azovmash played their third friendly encounter in Bormio. They faced Swiss powerhouse Lugano Tigers. The Ukrainian side overcame a slow start to clinch an 86:79 victory. Derrick Low (188-PG-86, college: Washington St.) stepped up with 25 points to pace the Mariupol team.
Lugano looked slightly better in the first half. The Swiss team scored eagerly in the opening frame and gained a 40:35 halftime advantage. But Azovmash turned things around in the second half. The Ukrainian side shifted the gear and erupted for 51 points in the half to prevail at the end. Daniel Kickert (208-C/F-83, college: St.Mary's, CA) finished with 22 points for Azovmash. Coleman Collins (206-C/F-86, agency: Beo Basket, college: Virginia Tech) added 16 points in the victory. Devin Sweetney (198-G/F-87, agency: IBS, college: St.Francis, PA) responded with 21 points for Lugano. Matt Schneiderman (204-F/C-81, college: N.Iowa) added 18 points in the defeat.

Neuchatel inks Kaanu Olaniyi - 6 hours ago
Union Neuchatel Basket (LNA) agreed terms with 19-year old Swiss center Kaanu Olaniyi (206-98). He has played for the last four seasons at the junior team of ES Chalon-Sur-Saone in French ProA. Olaniyi represented Switzerland at the European Championships U16 Division B in Strumice (FYR Macedonia) three years ago. His stats at that event were 9 games: 9.4ppg, 8.6rpg, 1.1apg, 1.0spg, Blocks-5 (1.9bpg), FGP: 51.6%, FT: 42.9%. Olaniyi has played previously for Blonay Basket. Union Neuchatel...   [read more]
Neuchatel inks Kevin Monteiro - 6 hours ago
Union Neuchatel Basket (LNA) agreed terms with 23-year old forward Kevin Monteiro (196-94) from BC Winterthur. In 12 LNA games he had 9.0ppg, 5.8rpg, 1.4apg and 1.0spg last season. He helped them to win the Supercup. Monteiro also played that season for Fribourg Olympic. But in two LNA games he did not score anything. The other team he played shortly was Academie Fribourg where in 5 LNA games he recorded 12.0ppg, 5.0rpg, 2.2apg and 2.0spg. Monteiro won Swiss LNA championship title in 2016.    [read more]

Neuchatel adds Fongue to their roster - 6 hours ago
Union Neuchatel Basket (LNA) added to their roster 26-year old international center Eric Fongue (201-94kg-91, college: Alaska-Fairbanks) from Fribourg Olympic. In 10 LNA games he had 4.7ppg and 1.1rpg last season. Fongue's team won Swiss Supercup. He has been also a member of Swiss international program for some years.
