We bring you last week's top performances from Swiss players who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

Jonathan Dubas
   #1. This week's number one is an international small forward Jonathan Dubas (202-91, currently plays in Belgium). He led Leuven Bears to a victory against the closely-ranked Kangoeroes (1-0) 88-79 in the Belgian Ethias League in Saturday night's game. Dubas recorded 13 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in 31 minutes on the court. It was his first game for Leuven Bears this season. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. His team is placed second in the Ethias League. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Dubas is currently fourth on the league's list of best rebounders with 9 rebounds. He has a dual citizenship: Swiss and Belgian. Dubas is currently a member of the Swiss senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international shooting guard Dusan Mladjan (198-86, agency: Beo Basket, currently plays in Adriatic League). He contributed to an Radnicki KG's surprising victory against the fourth-ranked Cibona (0-1) 82-66 in the Adriatic League last Saturday. Mladjan recorded 13 points. It was his first game for Radnicki KG this season. His team is placed tenth in the Adriatic League. But the season just started, so everything may happen. Mladjan is another player who holds two passports: Swiss and Serbian. Ex-BC Lugano Tigers player is in the roster of the Swiss senior national team.

   #3. The Swiss player who performed third best last week abroad was former U18 international power forward Clint N'Dumba-Capella (207-94, currently plays in France), who plays in the French ProA. He could not help Chalon/Saor (0-1) to beat Entente Orleans 45 (1-0). N'Dumba-Capella recorded only 4 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks. It was his first game for Chalon/Saor this season. Chalon/Saor was defeated 67-54 on the road by the higher-ranked Entente Orleans 45 (#6). But there are still lots of games to play and it's a long way to go. It's N'Dumba-Capella's fourth year with the team. He played for the Swiss U18 national team two years ago.

David Ramseier
David Ramseier
   #4. Power forward David Ramseier (202-87, currently plays in France) contributed to a Boulazac Basket's victory against the 15th-ranked JL Bourg (1-3) 65-52 in the French ProB (second division) last Saturday. Ramseier scored 11 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in a mere 15 minutes. Boulazac Basket Dordogne (2-1) is placed fifth in the ProB. This year Ramseier averages: 8.3ppg and 3.3rpg in the three games he played so far. He has both Swiss and French nationalities. Ramseier used to play for the Swiss national team last year.

   #1. Rolandas Alijevas (192-G-85, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov, currently plays in Lithuania) managed to help Pieno Zvaigzdes Pasvalys in a victory against the league outsider Dzukija (0-2) crushing them 80-55 in the Lithuanian LKL on Saturday night. He scored only 2 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and dished 8 assists in 20 minutes. It was his first game for P.Zvaigzdes this season. His team is placed third in the LKL. But the season is still in it's first stage and everything can happen. It's Alijevas' first year with the team. Alijevas has a dual citizenship: Swiss and Lithuanian.

   #2. Alex Vaenerberg (183-G-92, currently plays in Finland) contributed to an easy victory against the tenth-ranked LrNMKY (0-1) crushing them 109-81 in the Finnish Korisliiga on Saturday night. He recorded 5 points and added 3 assists. It was his first game for Tampereen Pyrinto this season. His team is placed fifth in the Korisliiga. Vaenerberg is another player who holds two passports: Swiss and Finnish.

Lugano Tigers - Monthey 75-77 Monthey tied the series after road win in Lugano. The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Americans were the main players on the court. The winners were led by guard Brandon Young (193-91, college: De Paul) who scored that evening 20 points and 9 assists and forward Markel Humphrey (198-86, college: Marshall, agency: Three Eye Sports) supported him with 20 points and 6 rebounds. Vevey win LNB - 2 days ago
Vevey win LNB in fifth-game series against BBC Nyon. They won last game with the dominating entire game and final result was 82:55 for Paolo Povia players. They won also Regular Season as they finished 1st with only 3 loses and 18 wins. They will return to LNA after almost ten years of playing in LNB. Last time they played in top division was in 2007-08 season when they finished on 12th place.   [read more]

Geneve Lions - Fribourg 79-77 The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 41-36 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Geneve Lions shot 19 for 27 from the free-throw line, while Fribourg only scored 0 point from the stripe. They outrebounded Fribourg 37-21 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by Fribourg helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities.
