There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in LNA.

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Geneve. First ranked Geneve Lions faced 4th ranked Monthey. Host Geneve Lions (19-4) defeated guests from Monthey (12-11) 75-71. Monthey trailed by 16 points after 3 quarters before a 25-13 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 71-75 at the end of the game. The best player for the winners was the former international center Oliver Vogt (209-80) who scored 18 points and 9 rebounds. American point guard Kelvin Parker (183-82, college: NW Missouri St.) chipped in 17 points and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Canadian point guard Hernst Laroche (185, college: N.Mexico St.) who recorded 14 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Geneve Lions have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 19-4 record. Monthey at the other side dropped to the fifth place with 11 games lost. Geneve Lions are looking forward to face Starwings (#7) in Basel in the next round where they are favorite. Monthey will play at home against SAM Massagno and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.

It was a good game for American swingman Shy Ely (194-87, college: Evansville, agency: Merit Sports) who led his team to a victory with 28 points and 5 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). Daniel Ferguson contributed with 23 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Clint Chapman (208-89, college: Texas) replied with 30 points and 8 rebounds for SAM Massagno. SAM Massagno's coach Robbi Gubitosa rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Boncourt maintains sixth position with 9-14 record. SAM Massagno lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 20 games lost. Boncourt will play against higher ranked Lugano Tigers (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. SAM Massagno will play against Monthey (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.

The best for the losing side was Justin Rutty with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Defending champion maintains third position with 14-9 record having five points less than leader Geneve Lions. BBC Nyon lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 19 games lost. Lugano Tigers will meet at home Boncourt (#6) in the next round. BBC Nyon will play against the league's second-placed Fribourg and hope to secure a win.

In the last game of round 24 Starwings were defeated by Neuchatel in a road game 83-71.


Boncourt - SAM Massagno 100-97 OT

Ninth-ranked SAM Massagno (4-20) made lots of trouble for sixth ranked Boncourt (9-14). Boncourt managed to secure only three-point victory 100-97. However their fans expected easier game. SAM Massagno was ahead by 7 points after three quarters before a 24-17 charge of Boncourt, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 13-10. Boncourt made 22-of-25 charity shots (88.0 percent) during the game. SAM Massagno was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American swingman Shy Ely (194-87, college: Evansville, agency: Merit Sports) who led his team to a victory with 28 points and 5 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). The game in Nyon was also quite interesting. Third ranked Lugano Tigers (14-9) played at the court of 8th ranked BBC Nyon (4-19). Lugano Tigers defeated BBC Nyon 85-70 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 85-70. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian guard Branko Milisavljevic (193-76, agency: Beo Basket) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 7 assists and American forward Richie Gordon (203-89, college: W.Carolina) who added 13 points and 9 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) during the contest. Five Lugano Tigers players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Justin Rutty (200-89, college: Quinnipiac) with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import swingman Marvin Owens (196-86, college: Northwood) scored 24 points and 7 rebounds. There was no surprise when 7th ranked Starwings (8-16) were defeated on the road by fifth ranked Neuchatel (13-11) 83-71 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 45-26 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Neuchatel forced 29 Starwings turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Thomas Coleman (205-88, college: N.Carolina A&T) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import guard Quinton Day (185-84, college: UMKC, agency: Three Eye Sports) who added 18 points during the contest. Four Neuchatel players scored in double figures. 5 STELLE SAM Basket Massagno Lugano (SBL) landed 26-year old Kenyan forward Tylor Ongwae (199-93kg-91, college: La-Monroe). He played in the summer at Taranaki Mountainairs in New Zealand NBL league. Ongwae managed to play in four leagues in two countries last year (!!!). In 18 NBL games he averaged impressive 18.0ppg, 5.7rpg, 2.4apg and 1.8spg (in top 3). The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of BBC Nyon (1-1) on the court of Villars on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Villars 82-77.
