The Regular Season in LNA just ended. Coincidentally all hosts won their games.

Third-ranked Lugano Tigers (16-10) gave a tough game to second ranked Fribourg (20-6) on Saturday. Fribourg managed to secure only three-point victory 90-87. However their fans expected easier game. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Lugano Tigers. The hosts trailed by 17 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 3 points. They outrebounded Lugano Tigers 47-25 including a 29-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American forward Arizona Reid (196-86, college: High Point) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 10 rebounds. His fellow American import power forward Darrius Garrett (205-90, college: Richmond) helped adding 17 points and 18 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Serbian guard Branko Milisavljevic (193-76, agency: Beo Basket) with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 assists. Fribourg maintains second place with 20-6 record having just two points less than leader Geneve Lions. Defending champion Lugano Tigers keep the third position with ten games lost.
LNA top team - Geneve Lions (22-4) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked Boncourt (10-16) 88-65. It was a quality performance for Senegalese power forward Babacar Toure (205-85) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Andrej Stimac accounted for 14 points and 6 rebounds. American swingman Shy Ely (194-87, college: Evansville, agency: Merit Sports) came up with 14 points and 7 rebounds for Boncourt in the defeat. Boncourt's coach Antoine Petitjean gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Geneve Lions have an impressive series of thirteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 22-4 record. Boncourt at the other side keeps the sixth position with 16 games lost.

In the last two games of round 27 SAM Massagno lost to Neuchatel on the opponent's court 65-78. Monthey managed to outperform BBC Nyon in a home game 96-78.

Neuchatel - SAM Massagno 78-65

Very expected game when 9th ranked SAM Massagno (4-22) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Neuchatel (14-12) 78-65. The game was mostly controlled by Neuchatel. SAM Massagno was better in fourth quarter 18-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Neuchatel dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to SAM Massagno's 32. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward Thomas Coleman (205-88, college: N.Carolina A&T) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 16 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Quinton Day (185-84, college: UMKC, agency: Three Eye Sports) accounted for 17 points for the winning side. Naturalized Serbian forward Marko Mladjan (206-93) came up with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks and American forward Daniel Fitzgerald (206-84, college: Marquette) added 17 points respectively for SAM Massagno in the defeat. Neuchatel moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Monthey. SAM Massagno lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 22 games lost.

Monthey - BBC Nyon 96-78

Rather predictable result when fourth ranked Monthey (14-12) defeated at home 8th ranked BBC Nyon (5-21) 96-78. The game was mostly controlled by Monthey. BBC Nyon was better in second period 29-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Monthey dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to BBC Nyon's 34. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. It was an exceptional evening for international Jonathan Dubas (202-91) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Naturalized Argentinian Brian Savoy (192-92) accounted for 19 points for the winning side. Four Monthey players scored in double figures. American swingman Marvin Owens (196-86, college: Northwood) came up with 25 points and 9 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and the other American import forward Justin Rutty (200-89, college: Quinnipiac) added 21 points and 13 rebounds respectively for BBC Nyon in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Monthey maintains fourth place with 14-12 record, which they share with Neuchatel. BBC Nyon at the other side keeps the eighth position with 21 games lost.

LNA top team - Geneve Lions (22-4) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked Boncourt (10-16) 88-65. The game without a history. Geneve Lions led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 22-of-23 charity shots (95.7 percent) during the game. Geneve Lions forced 22 Boncourt turnovers and outrebounded them 38-17 including a 17-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a quality performance for Senegalese power forward Babacar Toure (205-85) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Croatian power forward Andrej Stimac (204-79) accounted for 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. American swingman Shy Ely (194-87, college: Evansville, agency: Merit Sports) came up with 14 points and 7 rebounds and Ivorian forward Ismael N'Diaye (197-82, college: FIU) added 13 points respectively for Boncourt in the defeat. Union Neuchatel Basket (LNA) signed 25-year old Dominican guard Bryan Colon (181-92). It is actually his comeback to Neuchatel as he has played here before. Colon played this summer at Indios de San Francisco in LNB league in Dominican Republic. But in only one game he did not score anything. The last season Colon played at Union Neuchatel Basket where in 29 LNA games he had 4.9ppg, 1.3rpg and 1.0apg. He helped them to make it to the Supercup final.
