Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Swiss players who are currently playing abroad.

Thabo Sefolosha
Thabo Sefolosha
#1. This week's number one is former international guard Thabo Sefolosha (199-84, agency: ACMT, currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA. He could not help the Oklahoma City Thunder (53-21) in their last game. Despite Sefolosha's good performance the Oklahoma City Thunder lost 93-101 on the road to the Minnesota Timberwolves. He recorded 10 points in 28 minutes on the court. Sefolosha has relatively good stats this year: 7.5ppg, 3.9rpg, 1.6apg, 1.3spg, 2FGP: 55.1%(108-196), 3FGP: 41.6% and FT: 83.1% in the 73 games he played so far. He played for the Swiss senior national team two years ago.

Greg Brunner
Greg Brunner
#2. Second place goes to an international power forward Greg Brunner (201-83, college: Iowa, currently plays in Italy). Brunner led Trenkwalder RE to an easy victory against the 11th-ranked Enel Brindisi (10-15) 84-69 in the Italian SerieA last Saturday. He recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and getting 11 rebounds. Trenkwalder Reggio Emilia (14-11) is placed seventh in the SerieA. Brunner belongs to league's best rebounders and is ranked #5. He has very reliable stats this season: 12.1ppg, 7.8rpg, 1.7apg, 1.5spg, 2FGP: 58.0%(109-188), 3FGP: 45.5%(10-22). Brunner is a naturalized American. Despite he played previously for the USA university national team, Brunner is currently a member of the Swiss senior national team. Strangely he has never played in Switzerland.

Christophe Varidel
Christophe Varidel
#3. The Swiss player who performed third best last week abroad was former international guard Christophe Varidel (188-89, currently plays college basketball in the States). Varidel led Florida Gulf Coast to a victory against the San Diego State University (15-1) 81-71 in the NCAA National Tournament Round 3 in Sunday night's game. He recorded 11 points. The Florida Gulf Coast University has a solid 13-5 conference record this season. The National Tournament Round 3 already ended in the NCAA. This season Varidel has relatively solid stats: 11.1ppg, 3.4rpg, 3.8apg, 1.6spg, 2FGP: 58.0%(29-50), 3FGP: 26.1% and FT: 81.3%. He played for the Swiss national team three years ago.

David Ramseier
David Ramseier
#4. Power forward David Ramseier (203-87, currently plays in France) was not able to help Boulazac Basket (7-18) in their game against Paris-Levallois (13-12) in the French ProA. Ramseier did not beat the league record on Saturday evening. He scored only 2 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. The bottom-ranked Boulazac Basket was defeated 90-79 on the opponent's court by the much higher-ranked Paris-Levallois (#8). It's Ramseier's first season with the team. This year Ramseier averages: 5.6ppg and 3.8rpg. He has a dual citizenship: Swiss and French. Ramseier is also Swiss national team player.

The list of other players, who all have Swiss passport but never been selected to any of Swiss national teams:

#1. Rolandas Alijevas (192-G-85, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov, currently plays in Lithuania) contributed to an easy victory against the tenth-ranked LSU-Baltai (5-14) crushing them 97-75 in the Lithuanian LKL on Tuesday night. Alijevas recorded 10 points and added 6 assists in 24 minutes. BC Siauliai (11-7) is placed third in the LKL. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This year Alijevas has relatively solid stats: 11.1ppg, 3.4rpg, 3.8apg and 1.6spg in the eight games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Swiss and Lithuanian. Despite Alijevas' Swiss passport, he previously played for the Lithuanian university national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Swiss team.

#2. Alex Vaenerberg (183-G-92, currently plays in Finland) was the major contributor in a Salon Vilpas' victory against the fifth-ranked Kauhajoen Karhu (25-16) crushing them 96-61 in the Finnish Korisliiga last Wednesday. Vaenerberg scored 16 points in 22 minutes. Salon Vilpas Vikings (12-28) is placed tenth in the Korisliiga. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. This year Vaenerberg averages: 7.5ppg, 2.2rpg and 2.8apg in the 31 games. He is another player who holds two passports: Finnish and Swiss.
