Hacettepe University (TBL) strengthened their roster with addition of 34-year old American point guard Anthony Grundy (189-79, college: North Carolina State). He played recently at Enosi Kalathosfairisis Kavalas in Greek A1 league. In 10 games he recorded 10.7ppg, 2.4rpg, 3.9apg and 2.6spg this season. Grundy also played 2 games in Balkan League where he averaged impressive 18.5ppg, 3.0rpg, 6.0apg and 2.0spg. He also spent pre-season at Mahram (Superleague) in Iran earlier that year. The last season Grundy played at Mersin. In 30 games he averaged remarkable 17.0ppg, 3.5rpg, 3.8apg and 1.6spg (in top 5). He ended the previous (2011) season at Bucaneros (LPB) in Venezuelan league. But the most of that year Grundy spent at Petron Blaze (PBA) in Filipino league. In four games he averaged great 20.5ppg, 8.0rpg, 8.0apg and 2.0spg. The last (2011) season he played at AEK Athens (B) in Greek league. In 10 games he averaged 14.5ppg, 2.0rpg, 3.1apg and 1.9spg. Among other achievements Grundy's team made it to the Greek Cup Final Four in 2008 and 2012. He received also Eurobasket.com All-Greek A1 League Honorable Mention award back in 2009. Grundy is a very experienced player. He has played also professionally in Cyprus, Germany, Israel, Italy (Naturhouse Ferrara and BancaTercas), Sweden, NBA (Atlanta Hawks), Venezuela (Marinos) and D-League (Roanoke D.). Grundy attended North Carolina State until 2002 and it is his eleventh (!!!) season in pro basketball. The scouts decsribe him following way:
A skinny scorer who can spend time in both guard positions. Has quick hands, is very athletic, can create and attacks the basket looking to score. Doesn' t have the size to play the SG at NBA level, but could improve his court vision and become a good PG. Passing and ball-handling are yet OK. Long arms make hiem a strong defender, leaping ability and timing allow him to grab more rebounds than expected.
