Bottom-ranked Hacettepe managed to get a sixth victory on Saturday night. This time they won against fifteenth-ranked Antalya 88-70. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 18-point difference proves that Hacettepe was well-prepared to that game. The guests trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 18 points. Hacettepe dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Antalya's 40. American point guard Anthony Grundy (189-79, college: N.Carolina St.) had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals to lead the charge for the winners and Muhammed Baygul (191-92) chipped in 13 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals during the contest. The best for the losing side was center Eren Beyaz (208-85) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds. Antalya's coach Timucin Meric rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Galatasaray have an impressive 17-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 27-3 record. Turk Telekom lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth place with 22 games lost. They share the position with Mersin.

There was no surprise in Akdeniz where 12th ranked Mersin (8-22) was defeated by sixth ranked Besiktas (19-10) 102-84. The game was mostly controlled by Besiktas. Mersin was better in fourth quarter 27-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Besiktas players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Mersin helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for the former international center Cemal Nalga (213-87, agency: Beo Basket) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. American swingman Ricky Minard (196-82, college: Morehead St.) contributed with 20 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) for the winners. Four Besiktas players scored in double figures.
