Mersin capped their Bursa international friendly tournament campaign on a high note. They held off Ulm to finish 5th. Antwain Barbour (196-G/F-82, agency: Three Eye Sports, college: Kentucky) was unstoppable with 29 points for the winners.
Mersin dropped 24 points in the opening frame to gain a 4-point lead. They maintained the lead throughout the second stanza. Mersin ensured a 47:40 halftime advantage. The Turkish team did not slow down in the third term. They ensured a 65:60 advantage heading into the final stanza. Ulm stayed within striking distance throughout the fourth period but could not deliver. Mersin held on to win the game. Gerrod Henderson (192-G-78, college: Louisiana Tech) chipped in 16 points, while Ali Karadeniz (203-F-80, college: Arizona) had 10 points in the victory. Will Clyburn (201-F-90, college: Iowa St.) responded with 20 points for Ratiopharm Ulm. Adam Hess (201-G/F-81, agency: LUMANI 10.7, college: William & Mary) connected for 10 points in the defeat.
