Prince's double-double lands him Player of the Week award - Apr 30, 2013

J.P. Prince
25-year old guard J.P. Prince (201-G-87) had a great game in the last round for Mersin and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 29.
He got a double-double of 21 points and 10 assists, while his team beat Turk Telekom (#14, 8-21) 89-81. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on the top of the standings. Mersin is placed at 12th position in Turkish league. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 20 games and recorded just eight victories. It was one of impressive evenings for Prince as usually he does not deliver so high stats. University of Tennessee graduate has very impressive stats this year. Prince is in league's top in rebounds (6th best: 7.3rpg) and averages solid 57.4% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Ben Woodside (180-PG-85, agency: Priority Sports) of TED Kolejliler. He is American guard in his first season at TED Kolejliler. In the last game Woodside recorded impressive double-double of 20 points and 16 assists. Bad luck as TED Kolejliler lost that game 105-110 to slightly higher-ranked Besiktas (#6, 18-10). TED Kolejliler managed to keep the same 7th spot in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 16-13 record is not bad and everything may still change. Woodside is a newcomer at TED Kolejliler and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to another TED Kolejliler's star - center Jovo Stanojevic (208-C-77, agency: Beo Basket). Stanojevic showcased his all-around game by recording 27 points, ten rebounds and four assists in the last round. Despite Stanojevic's great performance TED Kolejliler lost 105-110 to slightly higher-ranked Besiktas (#6, 18-10). But his team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates. The last thing TED Kolejliler needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 16 victories and 13 lost games. Stanojevic has a great season in Turkey. After 29 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.0ppg (2nd best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Vladimir Golubovic (213-C-86) of Antalya - 26 points and 16 rebounds
5. Dusko Savanovic (204-PF-83) of Anadolu Efes - 26 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Serhat Cetin (197-G/F-86) of Besiktas - 30 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists
7. Joey Dorsey (206-C/F-83) of Gaziantep - 15 points and 7 rebounds
8. Oguz Savas (212-C-87) of Fener.Ulker - 20 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Sammy Mejia (198-G-83) of Banvit BK - 16 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists
10. Gasper Vidmar (211-C/F-87) of Besiktas - 14 points and 16 rebounds

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
