The Regular Season in TB2L just ended.

Leader Usak delivered the twentieth fifth win on Saturday night. This time they beat 18th ranked Izmir BSB (3-30) 71-63. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Izmir BSB won third quarter 19-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Izmir BSB 37-26 including 32 on the defensive glass. 28 personal fouls committed by Izmir BSB helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American forward Eric Buckner (208-90, college: Georgia St., agency: David Lee services) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Justin Carter (193-87, college: Creighton, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Cengiz Aydin Ergen (-88) who recorded 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Usak have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 25-8 record. Izmir BSB lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 30 lost games.
The game in Istanbul was also worth to mention about. Third ranked Selcuk Universitesi (23-10) played at the court of 6th ranked Darussafaka (20-13). Selcuk Universitesi managed to secure a 4-point victory 79-75. It was a good game for American point guard Jeremy Granger (185-90, college: E.Illinois) who led his team to a victory with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Ihsan Yalcin Azizmahmutogullari contributed with 21 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American center LaRon Dendy (205-88, college: Middle Tenn.St., agency: David Lee services) answered with 21 points and 7 rebounds for Darussafaka. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Selcuk Universitesi have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Yesilgiresun. Darussafaka at the other side dropped to the seventh position with 13 games lost.
A very close game took place in Manisa between Istanbul B.B. and Vestel. Eleventh ranked Istanbul B.B. (15-18) got a very close victory on the road over 9th ranked Vestel (17-16). Istanbul B.B. managed to escape with a 1-point win 89-88 on Saturday evening. Jayme Miller stepped up and scored 24 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winners. Istanbul B.B.'s coach Hakan Yavuz used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Kerem Ozkan with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Istanbul B.B. maintains eleventh place with 15-18 record. Vestel lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 16 games lost.
We should mention about the upset which took place in Balikesir, where higher ranked Bandirma Kir. (16-17) lost at home to fourteenth ranked Pi Koleji (14-19) 64-80. Kaspars Kambala nailed a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds for the winning side. Bandirma Kir.'s coach Selcuk Ernak rotated twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Pi Koleji moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Final Genclik and Baskent Genclik. Bandirma Kir. at the other side keeps the tenth position with 17 games lost.
An interesting game took place in Bursa, where higher ranked Gelisim (13-20) lost to sixteenth ranked Final Genclik (14-19) in a road game 66-82 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was Muratcan Esen who scored 21 points. Final Genclik moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Pi Koleji and Baskent Genclik. Loser Gelisim dropped to the fifteenth position with 20 games lost.

Other games of round 33 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Yesilgiresun beat Maliye Milli at home 87-74. Akhisar Bld won against Pertevniyal on the opponent's court 68-57. Baskent Genclik managed to outperform Balikesir in a home game 72-67.
The best stats of 33th round was 17 points, 18 rebounds and 6 assists by Tyrone Nelson of Akhisar Bld.

Bandirma Kir. - Pi Koleji 64-80

We should mention about the upset which took place in Balikesir, where higher ranked Bandirma Kir. (16-17) lost at home to fourteenth ranked Pi Koleji (14-19) 64-80. The game without a history. Pi Koleji led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Bandirma Kir.'s 32. Latvian center Kaspars Kambala (206-78, college: UNLV, agency: Alti Sport) nailed a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds for the winning side and American swingman Vincent Grier (195-83, college: Minnesota) accounted for 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Pi Koleji players scored in double figures. Forward Tufan Onen (202-89) came up with 13 points and 8 rebounds and forward Cenk Sekeroglu (203-91) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Bandirma Kir. in the defeat. No shocking result in a game in Giresun where third ranked Yesilgiresun (23-10) defeated 5th ranked Maliye Milli (21-12) 87-74 on Saturday. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Yesilgiresun's pressure prevailed and they won that period 17-8 extending their advantage to 13 points. Yesilgiresun outrebounded Maliye Milli 42-30 including 27 on the defensive glass. Maliye Milli was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American guard Alex Gordon (184-85, college: Vanderbilt) who scored 18 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Guard Barkin Haluk Cinar (193-83) chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds. Five Yesilgiresun players scored in double figures. Baskent Genclik - Balikesir 72-67

There was a surprise result in Ankara where fourteenth ranked Baskent Genclik (14-19) beat higher ranked Balikesir (19-14) 72-67 on Saturday. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was forward KZell Wesson (201-77, college: La Salle) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Aubrey Reese (183-78, college: Murray St., agency: Interperformances) chipped in 22 points. Four Baskent Genclik players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Robert Lowery (188-87, college: Dayton) who recorded a double-double by scoring 11 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists and power forward Pervis Pasco (206-81, college: Kansas St.) added 10 points and 13 rebounds respectively. Balikesir's coach Cengiz Karadag tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the third consecutive win for Baskent Genclik. They moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Pi Koleji and Final Genclik. Newly promoted Balikesir keeps the eighth position with 14 games lost.

Turk coach Ahmet Caki left ALBA Berlin (BBL). He helped them to make it to the German Bundesliga Cup Semifinals. The last season Caki coached at Anadolu Efes (BSL) in Turkish league. The teams have now bigger motivation at this stage of Regular Season. Every game can be crucial and decide about teams' position at the end of Regular Season. The game in Gaziantep was quite interesting. Third ranked Besiktas (22-5) played at the court of 8th ranked Gaziantep (13-14). Besiktas managed to secure a 8-point victory 67-59 on Sunday.
