The Regular Season in TB2L just ended. The round was exceptionally exciting as three games ended with a tiny margin. The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with derby games, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

The most exciting game of round 34 in the TB2L took place in Akhisar. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 4th ranked Akhisar Bld (22-12) to third ranked Yesilgiresun (24-10) 64-63 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Akhisar Bld. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 64-63. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Alex Gordon (184-85, college: Vanderbilt) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 assists and 4 steals. The other American import forward Vernon Goodridge (206-84, college: La Salle) contributed with 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American forward Darrius Morrow (203-90, college: E.Carolina, agency: Three Eye Sports) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds for Akhisar Bld. Yesilgiresun moved-up to second place, which they share with Selcuk Univ. Akhisar Bld at the other side keeps the fourth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Maliye Milli.
TB2L top team - Usak (26-8) added another victory to their record. This time they beat sixteenth ranked Pertevniyal (13-21) 80-75. American forward Justin Carter (193-87, college: Creighton, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) scored 29 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Eric Buckner chipped in 12 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks during the contest. At the losing side center Ramazan Tekin (212-93) responded with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Usak have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 26-8 record. Pertevniyal at the other side dropped to the fifteenth place with 21 games lost. They share the position with Gelisim.
A very close game took place in Balikesir between Bandirma Kir. and Balikesir. Tenth ranked Bandirma Kir. (17-17) got a very close victory on the road over 8th ranked Balikesir (19-15). Bandirma Kir. managed to escape with a 1-point win 75-74 on Saturday evening. Raymond Sykes notched a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort. Even a double-double of 12 points and 12 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) by Pervis Pasco did not help to save the game for Balikesir. Balikesir's coach Cengiz Karadag tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Bandirma Kir. moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Vestel. Newly promoted Balikesir keeps the eighth position with 15 games lost.
A very interesting game took place in Istanbul. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 18th ranked Izmir BSB (3-31) to seventeenth ranked Istanbulspor (5-29) 71-69 in the fight for the seventeenth place. Onur Sonsirma fired 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Izmir BSB's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Istanbulspor maintains seventeenth position with 5-29 record. Izmir BSB lost eighth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 31 lost games.
Fifteenth-ranked Gelisim (13-21) used its home court advantage to challenge seventh ranked Darussafaka (21-13) in Izmir on Saturday. The visitors from Istanbul managed to secure only three-point victory 75-72. However their fans expected much easier game. It was a very good performance for Marcus Hall who helped to win the game recording 27 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Darussafaka's coach Aziz Bekir used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Darussafaka moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Trabzonspor. Loser Gelisim keeps the fifteenth position with 21 games lost.

Other games in round 34 were not that significant. Baskent Genclik was smashed by Selcuk Univ. on the road 90-69. Maliye Milli won against Vestel on its own court 86-70. Trabzonspor unfortunately lost to Pi Koleji in Ankara 71-78. Istanbul B.B. recorded a loss to Final Genclik at home 94-97.
The most impressive performance of 34th round was 31 points and 15 rebounds by Jayme Miller of Istanbul B.B..


Selcuk Univ. - Baskent Genclik 90-69

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Selcuk Universitesi (24-10) crushed 12th ranked Baskent Genclik (14-20) in Konya 90-69 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 49-27 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Selcuk Universitesi dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Baskent Genclik's 32. Selcuk Universitesi looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American players dominated the game. It was a very good performance for point guard Jeremy Granger (185-90, college: E.Illinois) who helped to win the game recording 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Bill Clark (195-88, college: Duquesne) contributed with 18 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Forward KZell Wesson (201-77, college: La Salle) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 20 rebounds and guard Aubrey Reese (183-78, college: Murray St., agency: Interperformances) added 24 points (made all of his eight free throws) in the effort for Baskent Genclik. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Selcuk Universitesi have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 24-10 record having just two points less than leader Usak, which they share with Yesilgiresun. Loser Baskent Genclik dropped to the fourteenth place with 20 games lost.

Very expected game when 9th ranked Vestel (17-17) lost to fifth ranked Maliye Milli (22-12) in Ankara 70-86 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Maliye Milli. Vestel was better in fourth quarter 17-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a very good performance for American guard Zach Graham (198-89, college: Mississippi) who helped to win the game recording 18 points. Forward Cihad Sahin (203-83) contributed with 10 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Forward Kerem Ozkan (201-88, agency: EM-PA) replied with 14 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Soykan Yikilmaz (185-92) added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Vestel. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Maliye Milli moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Akhisar Bld. Vestel lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 17 games lost.

But Balikesir won second period 18-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Bandirma Kir. won last quarter 19-19. American forward Justin Carter (193-87, college: Creighton, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) scored 29 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Eric Buckner (208-90, college: Georgia St., agency: David Lee services) chipped in 12 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks during the contest. There was a minor upset when 11th ranked Istanbul B.B. (15-19) was edged at home by fourteenth ranked Final Genclik (15-19) 97-94 on Saturday. Istanbul B.B. was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 13-point lead after three quarters before a 31-15 charge of Final Genclik, which allowed them to win the game. It was a very good performance for guard Mustafa Gucyetmez (188-80) who helped to win the game recording 23 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Forward Serkan Ozver (206-90, agency: 1x1 Sports) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds for the winners.
