Fourteenth-ranked Olin Edirne (5-17) gave a tough game to fourth ranked Anadolu Efes (18-4) in Istanbul on Sunday. Anadolu Efes managed to secure only one-point victory 83-82. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 22-14 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Anadolu Efes made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. 28 personal fouls committed by Olin Edirne helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. International Kerem Gonlum (208-77) had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American point guard Jordan Farmar (188-86, college: UCLA) chipped in 12 points and 7 assists during the contest. Anadolu Efes' coach Oktay Mahmudi used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side point guard Mehmet Yagmur (188-87) responded with 21 points. Anadolu Efes have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 18-4 record. Olin Edirne at the other side keeps the fourteenth place with 17 games lost. They share the position with Antalya. Anadolu Efes are looking forward to face Erdemir (#8) on the road in the next round. Olin Edirne will play against Turk Telekom (#13) in Ankara and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Even 17 points and 9 assists by American point guard Ben Woodside (180-85, college: N.Dakota St., agency: Priority Sports) did not help to save the game for TED Kolejliler. Antalya moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Olin Edirne. Newly promoted TED Kolejliler keeps the seventh position with 11 games lost. Antalya will play against higher ranked Mersin (#12) in Akdeniz in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. TED Kolejliler will play at home against Aliaga (#10) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
