The games are now more important than at the beginning of the Regular Season. We may still expect few shocking results in upcoming 4 rounds.

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Istanbul: Galatasaray (#1) and Fenerbahce Ulker (#2). Galatasaray (23-3) won against visiting Fenerbahce Ulker (21-5) 66-53. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Galatasaray's pressure prevailed and they won that period 16-10 extending their advantage to 13 points. They dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Fenerbahce Ulker's 20. Naturalized American power forward Ersin Dagli (203-81, college: Alabama, agency: Interperformances) scored 8 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Puerto Rican point guard Carlos Arroyo (188-79, college: FIU, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 9 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. American-FYR Macedonian point guard Bo McCalebb (178-85, college: New Orleans) responded with 17 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Galatasaray have an impressive 13-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 23-3 record. Fenerbahce Ulker at the other side keeps the second place with five games lost. They share the position with Banvit BK. Galatasaray are looking forward to face Gaziantep (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Fenerbahce Ulker will play against Antalya (#15) and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
Very important is a road loss of second ranked Banvit BK (21-5) against thirteenth ranked Turk Telekom (8-18) on Monday night. Visiting Banvit BK was defeated by Turk Telekom in a tough game in Ankara 76-81. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Banvit BK. American point guard Dee Brown (185-84, college: Illinois, agency: Priority Sports) notched 20 points and 6 assists to lead the effort and Miha Zupan supported him with 19 points and 5 rebounds. Even 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists by American-Azerbaijani center Charles Davis (205-84, college: Alabama) did not help to save the game for Banvit BK. Banvit BK's coach Orhun Ene rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Turk Telekom moved-up to twelfth place. Banvit BK at the other side keeps the second position with five games lost. They share it with Fener.Ulker. Turk Telekom's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Ankara to the arena TED Kolejliler.
