The Regular Season in Higher League just ended.

Round 37 most important game was a victory of Musson over their biggest opponent Avantazh-Politekhnik 74-66 on Sunday night. It ended at the same time the 19-game winning streak of Avantazh-Politekhnik. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Musson dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Avantazh-Politekhnik's 34. Musson had a 30-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of center Nikola Eromin (207-85) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 9 rebounds. Russian center Dmitri Lipovtsev (207-86) contributed with 11 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. The former international guard Timur Arabadzhi (192-81) answered with 22 points and 6 rebounds for Avantazh-Politekhnik. Newly promoted Musson maintains first place with 32-4 record. Avantazh-Politekhnik at the other side keeps the second position with five games lost.
Another interesting game for Kirovograd (14-22) which played in Lutsk against 4th placed VolinBasket (19-17). Eighth ranked Kirovograd had an easy win 92-75. Georgian power forward Davit Maisuradze (205-90) stepped up and scored 20 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners and Stanislav Ovdeenko chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side guard Igor Dranchenko (191-89) responded with 14 points and 6 assists. VolinBasket's coach Sergei Smityukh rotated twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Kirovograd moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Koksokh-Stal. VolinBasket at the other side keeps the fourth position with 17 games lost. They share it with Pulsar and Tornado.
The game in Alchevsk was also quite interesting. Fifth ranked Tornado (19-17) played at the court of 7th ranked Koksokh-Stal (14-22). Tornado defeated Koksokh-Stal 90-77 on Sunday. Sergey Lapenko nailed 12 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals for the winning side. Tornado's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Pavlo Haylo came up with 24 points and 5 assists for Koksokh-Stal in the defeat. Tornado have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Pulsar and VolinBasket. Loser Koksokh-Stal keeps the seventh position with 22 games lost. They share it with Kirovograd.
The game between third ranked Khartsyzsk (27-9) and 10th ranked Ternopil-TNEU (1-35) in Donetsk ended with biggest points difference. Khartsyzsk outscored guests from Ternopil 113-67. Evgen Korovyakov fired 20 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Khartsyzsk's coach Vladimir Bryaukhavetshy felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Khartsyzsk maintains third place with 27-9 record having five points less than leader Musson. Ternopil-TNEU lost seventh consecutive game. They stay dead last with 35 lost games.

Other games in round 37 were not that significant. BK Kremen smashed Ternopil on the road 104-84. Bottom-ranked Ternopil lost to BK Kremen on its own court 67-78. BK Kremen unfortunately lost to Pulsar in Rovno 81-89.
The most impressive performance of 37th round was 25 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists by Sergei Glinchak of BK Kremen.

Ternopil - BK Kremen 84-104

The game between closely ranked teams ended with ninth ranked BK Kremen's (4-32) road victory over bottom-ranked Ternopil-TNEU (1-35) 104-84. BK Kremen dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Ternopil-TNEU's 36. They outrebounded Ternopil-TNEU 39-27 including 24 on the defensive glass. BK Kremen players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists. Sergei Glinchak (-89) fired 25 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Center Gleb Glebov (208-82) chipped in 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Sergyi Teleshko (209-92) produced 21 points and 5 rebounds and guard Evgeni Beruk (192-95) added 17 points and 7 assists respectively for lost side. Five BK Kremen and four Ternopil-TNEU players scored in double figures. Ternopil-TNEU's coach tested eleven players seeing no chance for a win. BK Kremen maintains ninth place with 4-32 record. Ternopil-TNEU lost seventh consecutive game. They stay dead last with 35 lost games.

BK Kremen players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Ternopil-TNEU helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Russian center Igor Chumichev (209-89) fired 30 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Forward Mykhailo Loza (197-92) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Anton Nifonton (190-89) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 assists and 5 steals and center Sergyi Teleshko (209-92) added 24 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Ternopil-TNEU's coach tested eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. BK Kremen maintains ninth place with 4-32 record. Ternopil-TNEU lost seventh consecutive game. They stay dead last with 35 lost games.

Rather predictable result when sixth ranked BC-93 Pulsar (19-17) won against 9th ranked BK Kremen (4-32) in Rovno 89-81. BC-93 Pulsar forced 20 BK Kremen turnovers. Guard Ilya Shemosyuk (188-85) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 assists for the winners. Power forward Evgeni Vornik (207-86, agency: Promotex) chipped in 29 points and 5 rebounds. BC-93 Pulsar's coach Mikhail Pereverziy allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Center Gleb Glebov (208-82) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Mykola Nitsak (201-93) added 17 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for lost side. After 5 rounds played we can already see who rules in the Superleague and who belongs to weaker ones. Coincidentally all hosts won their games. Leader Khimik blasted bottom-ranked Zaporizhye (0-5) in Yuzhny 105-78 on Sunday evening keeping the perfect record after 5 rounds. Zaporizhye is still unable to win any game. Juventus-LKSK Utenos (LKL) signed 30-year old Ukrainian international power forward Maxym Korniyenko (205-100kg-87). He played last season at Lukoil Academic Sofia in Bulgarian NBL league. In 35 NBL games he had 11.6ppg, 6.9rpg, 1.4apg and 1.0bpg. He helped them to win the league title. Utah Jazz (NBA) waived 23-year old Ukrainian international forward Joel Bolomboy (206-107kg-94, college: Weber State). Bolomboy played there last season. But in 14 NBA games he recorded just 1.9ppg and 1.4rpg (leader !!!). Last year he was drafted by the Jazz in second round (52nd overall).
