We bring you last week's top performances from Ukrainians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.
#1. This week's number one is former international power forward Serhiy Lishchuk (210-82, agency: Beo Basket, currently plays in Spain). He contributed to a Valencia Basket's victory against the ninth-ranked Asefa Estudiantes (12-12) 81-71 in the Spanish ACB in Saturday night's game.
Lishchuk scored 7 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 23 minutes on the court.
Valencia Basket (15-10) is placed fifth in the ACB.
It's Lishchuk's fourth season with the team.
This year he averages: 6.2ppg, 3.3rpg, 2FGP: 52.4% and FT: 74.0% in the 20 games he played so far.
Lishchuk played for the Ukrainian senior national team two years ago.
#2. Second place goes to U20 international center Alex Len (216-93, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA. He could not help the Maryland (10-11) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Len's very good performance the Maryland was edged 79-76 on the road by the University of North Carolina.
He scored 20 points and grabbed 7 rebounds.
The Regular Season already ended in the NCAA.
Len is ranked fifth on the list of the best rebounders in the league and also on the list of best blockers (third place).
His overall stats this season are: 6.2ppg, 3.3rpg, 2FGP: 52.4% and FT: 74.0%.
Len is in the roster of the Ukrainian U20 national team.
#3. The Ukrainian player who performed third best last week abroad was former U20 international forward Maks Adam Konate (200-91, currently plays in Belarus). He was the major contributor in Svisloch's victory against the third-ranked Rubon (11-13) 93-80 in the Belarusian Premier League on Saturday night.
Konate had a double-double by scoring 24 points and getting 16 rebounds. He also added and 4 steals in 39 minutes.
BK Svisloch Osipovichi (10-15) is placed fourth in Championship group.
It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row.
Konate belongs to league's top scorers (ranked #3) and also on the list of best rebounders (first place).
He has individually a very good year with high stats. Konate averages: 18.5ppg, 11.5rpg, 1.2apg, 2.8spg, 2FGP: 54.7%, 3FGP: 26.9% and FT: 55.2% in the 13 games.
He played for the Ukrainian U20 national team three years ago.
#4. Guard Steven Burtt (185-84, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov, college: Iona, currently plays in Russia) led Avtodor to a victory over the closely-ranked Volgograd (7-14) 84-71 in the Russian Superleague (second division) in Wednesday night's game.
Burtt was MVP of the game. He recorded 33 points (!!!), 5 assists and 5 steals.
Avtodor Saratov (11-12) is placed tenth in the Superleague.
This season Burtt has very high stats. He averages: 16.3ppg, 4.7rpg, 4.0apg and 2.0spg.
Burtt is a naturalized American.
He is also Ukrainian national team player.
Burtt used to play for Ferro-ZNTU Zaporozhye in Ukrainian league.
#5. International center Viacheslav Kravtsov (212-87, also represented by Beo Basket, currently plays in NBA) was not able to help the Detroit Pistons (23-45) in their game against the Los Angeles Clippers (45-21) in the NBA.
He scored 5 points and blocked 3 shots in 12 minutes.
The Detroit Pistons were crushed 129-97 in Los Angeles by the Clippers.
It was Pistons' eighth consecutive loss in a row.
It's Kravtsov's first season with the team.
This year Kravtsov's overall stats are: 3.3ppg and 1.7rpg in the 19 games.
He plays currently for the Ukrainian national team.
#6. Forward Dmytro Khodov (203-87, currently plays in Belarus) helped Sozh Gomel win their game against the leader Tsmoki-Minsk II (10-16) 85-81 in the Belarusian Premier League last Saturday.
Khodov recorded 11 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 21 minutes.
It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group Championship. BK Sozh Gomel (18-6) is placed second.
It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row.
Khodov has relatively good stats this year: 10.5ppg and 4.4rpg in the 12 games.
He is a former university international player as he played for the Ukrainian team two years ago.
#7. U20 international center Oleksandr Kushnirov (208-92, currently plays in Lithuania) was not able to secure a victory for the league outsider Naglis Palangos (0-18) in their game against LSU-Baltai (5-11) in the Lithuanian LKL.
He scored 8 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 17 minutes.
The bottom-ranked Naglis Palangos lost 72-82 at home to the higher-ranked (#10) LSU-Baltai.
So far Naglis Palangos lost all eighteen games in the Regular Season.
There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical.
This year Kushnirov's total stats are: 6.7ppg and 6.0rpg in the three games.
He is also Ukrainian U20 national team player.
#8. Center Olexandr Berhin (205-85, currently plays in Russia) faced previously mentioned Steven Burtt in the Russian Superleague last game.
Berhin couldn't help Volgograd (7-14) in their game against Avtodor (11-12).
He recorded 9 points and grabbed 5 rebounds.
But Volgograd was defeated 84-71 on their home court in Volgograd by the higher-ranked Avtodor (#10).
Berhin has averaged so far 9.8ppg, 5.5rpg and 1.3apg.
He used to play for the Ukrainian U20 national team
back in 2005.
#9. Former international point guard Vitaly Boyko (183-82, currently plays in Russia) is a teammate of previously mentioned Olexandr Berhin and both played together in the last Russian Superleague game.
Boyko couldn't help Volgograd (7-14) in their game against Avtodor (11-12).
He recorded 7 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists in 35 minutes.
Volgograd lost 71-84 on their home court in Volgograd to the higher-ranked (#10) Avtodor.
Boyko is ranked second on the list of the top scorers in the league and also on the list of best passers (seventh place).
He has very impressive stats this year: 16.1ppg, 5.1rpg, 4.1apg and 1.5spg in the 19 games.
Boyko used to play for the Ukrainian national team
seven years ago.
#10. An experienced guard Pavel Agapov (198-79, currently plays in Russia) managed to help Ataman Rostov in a victory against the league outsider Severstal (4-20) crushing them 73-47 in the Russian Superleague (second division) last Wednesday.
He recorded only 4 points in 12 minutes.
Ataman Rostov (15-9) is placed fourth in the Superleague.
There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial.
Agapov has averaged so far 6.2ppg and 3.0rpg in the 20 games.
He is a former university international player as ten years ago he still played for the Ukrainian national team.
The list of other players, who all have Ukrainian passport but never been selected to any of Ukrainian national teams:
#1. Experienced Maksym Shtein (206-C-80, agency: Limelight Hoops, currently plays in Germany), who plays in the German ProB (third division) could not help Weissenhorn Youngstars (14-8) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Shtein's very good performance the third-placed Weissenhorn Youngstars was defeated 64-56 on the road by the second-ranked TV 1862 Langen in the Group South.
He recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points and getting 13 rebounds.
There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical.
Shtein's total stats this season are: 8.4ppg, 5.6rpg and 1.9apg.
He has a dual citizenship: Ukrainian and German.
#2.Rinalds Sirsnins (186-PG-85, currently plays in Latvia) was not able to help one of league's weakest teams Jekabpils (17-10) in their game against Barons kvartals (18-9) in the Latvian LBL.
Sirsnins scored 7 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and dished 5 assists in 32 minutes.
Jekabpils lost 74-82 in Riga to the leading Barons kvartals.
It was Jekabpils' first loss after four consecutive victories.
Sirsnins belongs to league's top scorers (ranked #4) and also on the list of best passers (first place).
He has individually a very good year with high stats. Sirsnins averages: 15.9ppg, 5.1rpg, 6.2apg and 1.5spg in the 17 games he played so far.
#3.Sergei Dadukin (198-F-83, currently plays in Belarus) led Sozh Gomel to a victory against the leader Tsmoki-Minsk II (10-16) 85-81 in the Belarusian Premier League last Saturday.
He recorded 11 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists.
It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group Championship. BK Sozh Gomel (18-6) is placed second.
It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row.
Dadukin is ranked second on the list of the best rebounders in the league.
He has very reliable stats this season: 12.1ppg, 10.4rpg, 2.7apg and 1.9spg.
#4.Sergei Miakinin (206-F/C-86, currently plays in Belarus) is a teammate of previously mentioned Sergei Dadukin and both played together in the last Belarusian Premier League game.
Miakinin contributed to a Sozh Gomel's victory against the leader Tsmoki-Minsk II (10-16) 85-81.
He recorded 13 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists in 31 minutes.
Miakinin is currently fourth on the list of top scorers with 16.2ppg.
This year his other stats are: 4.8rpg in the 23 games.
#5.Igor Nesterenko (201-C/F-90, currently plays in Israel), who plays in the Israeli National League (second division) was not able to secure a victory for Elitzur Yavne (14-7) in their last game on Tuesday. Despite Nesterenko's very good performance Elitzur Yavne was defeated 82-71 at home by the second-ranked Ironi Nahariya.
He recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and getting 10 rebounds.
Nesterenko has relatively good stats this season: 11.2ppg and 6.0rpg.
He is another player who holds two passports: Ukrainian and Israeli.
Despite Nesterenko's Ukrainian nationality, he previously played for the Israeli U20 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Ukrainian team.
#6.Ivan Kaliayev (201-F-87, currently plays in Belarus) is a teammate of previously mentioned Sergei Dadukin. He played also in the last Belarusian Premier League game facing Sergei Miakinin (above) in the other team.
Kaliayev helped Sozh Gomel win their game against the leader Tsmoki-Minsk II 85-81.
He recorded 10 points.
Kaliayev's total stats this season are: 7.3ppg, 4.4rpg, 1.4apg and 1.4spg.
#7.Vitaliy Bliznyuk (206-C-79, currently plays in Belarus) managed to help BK Grodno-93 to win against the fourth-ranked Svisloch crushing them 89-67 in the Belarusian Premier League in Friday night's game.
He recorded only 1 points.
Bliznyuk has averaged so far 4.5ppg and 3.9rpg.

Kyiv prepares for U16 European Championship 2013. The Ukrainian capital will host the event from 8 to 18 August.
Sixteen teams were divided into 4 groups of four teams:
Group A: Belgium, Russia, Spain, Greece
Group B: Sweden, Germany, Turkey, Lithuania
Group C: Montenegro, Serbia, France, Poland
Group D: Ukraine, Italy, Croatia, Latvia

Serbia stepped onto the pedestal at U16 European Championship. They defeated Italy 83:69 to claim the Bronze medals. Belgium clinched Division B title at the U16 European Championship. The team overcame Montenegro 56:46 in the Final to seal the important victory in Bucharest. Both teams advanced to Division A for this year. Sweden caught up the last train to Division A at the U16 European Championship. The Scandinavian team overcame Hungary 79:55 in the game for the third place that gave the last spot in the top division this year.
Cherkasy have entered the market. Terry Smith (185-PG-86, college: Mercyhurst) is expected to become the first newcomer for the Superleague team. Terry Smith has just finished the season in Bulgaria. The guard played for Rilski Sportist. He was the top scorer in the Balkan League this season. His stats read 18.8 points, 3.6 boards, 3.4 assists and 1.6 steals per game at the tournament. The winners were led by American guard Malcolm Delaney (191-89, college: Virginia Tech) who scored that evening 6 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists and naturalized Lithuanian center Michailis Anisimovas (214-84) supported him with 18 points. Budivelnyk's coach Ainars Bagatskis allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even a double-double of 23 points and 13 rebounds by Serbian center Miroslav Raduljica (213-88) did not help to save the game for Azovmash. American point guard Lynn Greer (186-79, college: Temple) added 18 points and 7 assists for lost side.
