The Regular Season in Superleague is almost over. There are only 3 rounds left.

The game between second ranked Azovmash (22-12) and sixth ranked Cherkasy (21-17) was the most important one in the last round on Friday night. Azovmash was defeated by Cherkasy in a tough game in Cherkasy 83-88. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 50-44 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Cherkasy had a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for American point guard Dante Swanson (178-81, college: Tulsa, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) who led his team to a victory with 23 points and 5 assists. His fellow American import forward Vincent Hunter (208-84, college: Arkansas) contributed with 18 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Serbian power forward Tadija Dragicevic (206-86, agency: Beo Basket) answered with 25 points for Azovmash. Azovmash's coach Sergei Zavalin tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Cherkasy have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain sixth place with 21-17 record. Azovmash at the other side keeps the second position with 12 games lost. Cherkasy will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Azovmash will play on the road against Kryvbasbasket in Krivoy Rog and is hoping to win this game.
Superleague top team - Budivelnyk (27-8) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat thirteenth ranked DniproAzot (11-26) in Dniprodzerzhynsk 85-73. It was a great evening for the former international Artur Drozdov (200-80) who led his team to a victory scoring 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Leo Lyons helped adding 13 points and 8 rebounds. The best for the losing side was the former international point guard Alexander Panchenko (184-84) with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Budivelnyk maintains first place with 27-8 record. DniproAzot lost tenth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 26 games lost. Budivelnyk will play against Dnipro (#12) in Dnepropetrovsk in the next round which should be an easy win for them. DniproAzot will play at home against BC Kyiv and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Frankivsk was also quite interesting. Seventh ranked BC Donetsk (20-15) played at the court of 8th ranked Hoverla (19-17). BC Donetsk defeated Hoverla 96-80 on Friday. American players dominated the game. It was an exceptional evening for Ramel Curry who led the winners and scored 22 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Ryan Pearson came up with 24 points for Hoverla in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. BC Donetsk have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion maintains seventh place with 20-15 record. Hoverla lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 17 games lost. BC Donetsk will meet higher ranked Halychyna (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hoverla will play against Mykolaiv (#9) in Mykolaiv and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game between fifth ranked Halychyna (22-14) and 9th ranked Mykolaiv (15-20) in Lviv ended with biggest points difference. Halychyna outscored guests from Mykolaiv 91-69. The best player for the winners was Vladan Vukosavljevic who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Halychyna moved-up to third place, which they share with Ferro-ZNTU. Mykolaiv lost their third game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 20 games lost. Halychyna's next round opponent will be BC Donetsk (#7) at home. Mykolaiv will play against Hoverla in Frankivsk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.



Halychyna - Mykolaiv 91-69

The game between fifth ranked Halychyna (22-14) and 9th ranked Mykolaiv (15-20) in Lviv ended with biggest points difference. Halychyna outscored guests from Mykolaiv 91-69. The game was mostly controlled by Halychyna. Mykolaiv was better in fourth quarter 26-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Halychyna dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Mykolaiv's 34. They outrebounded Mykolaiv 40-24 including 25 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Serbian power forward Vladan Vukosavljevic (206-84, agency: Beo Basket) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. American point guard Darrel Mitchell (181-84, college: LSU, agency: Beo Basket) chipped in 18 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Halychyna players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Dwayne Mitchell (196-82, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Interperformances) who recorded 22 points, 5 assists and 6 steals and the other American import guard Josh Mayo (182-87, college: Ill.-Chicago, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively. The game was mostly controlled by BC Donetsk. Hoverla managed to win fourth quarter 23-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. BC Donetsk dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Hoverla's 52. BC Donetsk had a 26-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Hoverla's players. American players dominated the game. It was an exceptional evening for guard Ramel Curry (192-80, college: CSU Bakersfield) who led the winners and scored 22 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Guard Curtis Millage (185-81, college: Arizona St.) accounted for 16 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Five BC Donetsk players scored in double figures. Forward Ryan Pearson (198-90, college: George Mason) came up with 24 points and Kyndall Dykes (190-87, college: New Orleans, agency: Edge Sports) added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for Hoverla in the defeat. Halychyna have secured the services of Leonid Stefanishin (199-F-85) and Sergei Alferov (189-PG-84) for the next season. Leonid Stefanishin will enter the second season with the Lviv team.
