Budivelnyk - Hoverla 85-82

Budivelnyk celebrated a home win to open the quarterfinal series versus The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 25-20. But Hoverla won second period 19-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American forward Leo Lyons (206-87, college: Missouri, agency: Edge Sports) stepped up and scored 21 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and Australian-Dutch power forward Daniel Kickert (208-83, college: St.Mary's, CA) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side American Kyndall Dykes (190-87, college: New Orleans, agency: Edge Sports) responded with 20 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import forward Ryan Pearson (198-90, college: George Mason) scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.

Khimik - Halychyna 81-87

Halychyna shocked Khimik in Yuzny to take the first win in the series. The guests were already 11 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 27-22 Khimik's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 87-81 at the end of the game. Halychyna made 17-of-21 charity shots (81.0 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Halychyna especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Serbian power forward Vladan Vukosavljevic (206-84, agency: Beo Basket) nailed a double-double by scoring 28 points and 14 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!) for the winning side and Bosnian guard Goran Ikonic (196-80, agency: Beo Basket) accounted for 20 points and 5 assists. American-Bulgarian point guard Willie Deane (188-80, college: Purdue, agency: Higher Vision Sports) came up with 24 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and Canadian guard Devoe Joseph (193-90, college: Oregon, agency: Interperformances) added 13 points respectively for Khimik in the defeat. Khimik's coach Zvezdan Mitrovic rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help.

Azovmash - BC Donetsk 102-93

Azovmash made the first step towards the semifinal stage as they rolled past BC Donetsk in Mariupol. It looked good early as BC Donetsk took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Azovmash had a 32-18 second period charge getting the lead and BC Donetsk was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 93-102. Strangely BC Donetsk outrebounded Azovmash 37-25 including 22 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. BC Donetsk was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. American point guard Lynn Greer (186-79, college: Temple) nailed 29 points and 6 assists for the winning side and Serbian power forward Tadija Dragicevic (206-86, agency: Beo Basket) accounted for 25 points. Azovmash's coach Sergei Zavalin allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American-Trinidad and Tobago center D'or Fischer (211-81, college: W.Virginia) came up with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists and the former international center Kyrylo Fesenko (213-86) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for BC Donetsk in the defeat. Four Azovmash and five BC Donetsk players scored in double figures.
