Hoverla - Budivelnyk 102-95

Hoverla outgunned Budivelnyk to narrow the deficit in the series. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 102-95. Hoverla looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Budivelnyk helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for American Kyndall Dykes (190-87, college: New Orleans, agency: Edge Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import forward Ryan Pearson (198-90, college: George Mason) helped adding 26 points and 4 assists. Dykes is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Hoverla players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Leo Lyons (206-87, college: Missouri, agency: Edge Sports) with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international Artur Drozdov (200-80) scored 27 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

Halycnyna earned the third straight win in the series beating Khimik at home court. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 38-30 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Khimik was plagued by 34 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for Serbian power forward Vladan Vukosavljevic (206-84, agency: Beo Basket) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points and 8 rebounds. Serbian-Bosnian point guard Sasa Vasiljevic (180-79, agency: Beo Basket) helped adding 25 points and 7 assists. The best for the losing side was Bosnian-Serbian forward Miroslav Todic (205-85) with 21 points and Canadian guard Devoe Joseph (193-90, college: Oregon, agency: Interperformances) scored 16 points. Khimik's coach Zvezdan Mitrovic tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help.

Defending champion Budivelnyk Kyiv (Superleague) agreed terms with 27-year old center Igor Chumakov (208-105kg-90) from SK Cherkasy Monkeys. In 39 Superleague games he had 11.6ppg, 5.2rpg and 1.3apg last season. He helped them to make it to the semifinals. Chumakov ended the previous (2015-16) season at Furstenfeld Panthers in Austrian A Bundesliga where in 16 games he recorded 6.3ppg, 4.3rpg and 1.1bpg. AS Monaco Basket (ProA) confirmed in their roster 29-year old Ukrainian international swingman Sergii Gladyr (196-94kg-88, agency: BeoBasket). He has played there for the last two seasons. In 34 ProA games he recorded 8.7ppg, 2.2rpg, 1.2apg and 1.1spg last season. Gladyr helped them to win the regular season.
