There will be only one (last) round of the Regular Season in Superleague. The round was rather attractive and full of interesting results. The round ended with defeat of the leader, extra overtimes, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

Top ranked Budivelnyk (28-10) recorded its tenth loss in Yuzhny on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by fifth ranked Khimik (23-13) in overtime 93-88. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime then Budivelnyk managed to tie the game at the end of regular time. However that was Khimik who were better in overtime eventually winning that period 16-11. They made 36-of-46 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. 34 personal fouls committed by Budivelnyk helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American-Bulgarian point guard Willie Deane (188-80, college: Purdue, agency: Higher Vision Sports) who scored 26 points and 9 assists. Canadian guard Devoe Joseph (193-90, college: Oregon, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 18 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Sergiy Gorbenko (202-85) produced 18 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Khimik have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to third place. Budivelnyk at the other side still keeps top position with ten games lost. Khimik are looking forward to face BC Odessa (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Budivelnyk will play against BC Donetsk (#6) and is hoping to win this game.

Other games of round 53 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Cherkasy was defeated by Ferro-ZNTU in Zaporozhye 91-74. BC Odessa was beaten by Dnipro at home 77-80. Bottom-ranked BC Kyiv lost to Mykolaiv on the opponent's court 51-55. Hoverla unfortunately lost to Halychyna in a home game 63-76. Budivelnyk managed to beat Mykolaiv on the road 76-73. Azovmash crushed DniproAzot on its own court 91-70. Bottom-ranked BC Kyiv was smashed by Khimik in Yuzhny 85-65. Azovmash lost to Dnipro at home 65-69.
The best stats of 53th round was 28 points and 10 rebounds by Tadija Dragicevic of Azovmash.


Ferro-ZNTU - Cherkasy 91-74

There was no surprise in Zaporozhye where 7th ranked Cherkasy (21-18) was defeated by third ranked Ferro-ZNTU (24-14) 91-74 on Monday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 91-74. Ferro-ZNTU looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Jeremy Chappell (191-87, college: Robert Morris, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) who scored 22 points and 5 rebounds. His fellow American import R.T. Guinn (208-81, college: Baylor) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Lithuanian guard Tomas Delininkaitis (190-82) produced 19 points and American forward Vincent Hunter (208-84, college: Arkansas) added 19 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Cherkasy's coach Jovica Arsic rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Ferro-ZNTU. They moved-up to second place. Loser Cherkasy keeps the seventh position with 18 games lost. Ferro-ZNTU will face Kryvbasbasket (#9) in Krivoy Rog in the next round and are hoping to win another game.

Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Dnipro made 8 blocks. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But BC Kyiv won third quarter 10-7. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Mykolaiv made 7 blocks. Eskisehir Basket (TBL) signed 30-year old Ukrainian international center Viacheslav Kravtsov (212-115kg-87, agency: BeoBasket). He played last season at Valencia Basket in Spanish Liga Endesa.
