Nick Freer
London Lions Head Coach Vince Macaulay has added US forward Nick Freer (198-G/F-85, college: Grand Valley St.) to the London Lion's roster ahead of the 2013/14 season.

The 6'6" American is an athletic player who attended Eastern Michigan University for three years before transferring to Grand Valley State where he graduated from in 2008. At Grand Valley Freer averaged 8 points and 4 rebounds whilst shooting over 30% from the three point line and 60% from the floor. Freer helped Grand Valley win 36 games in a row before losing in the NCAA Division II National Finals

Freer's professional career didn't quite go to plan after college as a number of let downs saw him without a team. However on holiday in Australia, he walked into a session with Newcastle Hunters and was promptly signed up and won Player of the Year averaging 26 points and 9 rebounds a game.

An incredibly high jumper and noted for his physical play, Freer then played in Germany initially in the Regional league but last season in Germany's Pro A with Leipzig where he averaged 12 points and 4 rebounds per game.

Lions' Head Coach Vince Macaulay had this to say: "I'm delighted to have signed a consummate Pro such as Nick, he has experience at a high level but also is a great team mate, his style is exciting and will make us a very athletic team indeed."

The 27 year old, 180lbs forward is also looking forward to the British Basketball League. "I'm excited about this opportunity, I love to have fun on the floor and fans love to see me play, I like to put on a bit of a show but I also am very much about sound fundamental basketball."

Freer joins Rod Brown on the Lions roster as they rebuild for their first season in the Copper Box Arena. Player sponsorship is now available for Nick Freer on a first come first served basis. The Lions have announced Early Bird Season ticket offers for the Copper Box, these will remain on sale for another two weeks, and include admittance to watch the Lions play against Iowa University from the USA on the 14th of August. There is also a first opportunity to go to the Copper Box and pick your seats in Seat Selection Sunday, the 4th August.
