Levi Noel
Leicester Riders are delighted to announce the signing of 6'5" guard Levi Noel (197-G-91), who has been added to Rob Paternostro's roster ahead of the new season.

Levi enjoyed a successful debut on Saturday in the tournament at the Nottingham Wildcats Arena which saw him feature in both games. "It felt really good to pull on the Riders shirt for the first time," said Levi. "Even though we've only been together for a short period of time, there is a chemistry on the team which is great, I feel at home already."

"I know the team had a very successful year last year. The development programme and the calibre of players they have here with their experience is a big pulling factor. The Riders have the GB captain (Drew Sullivan) and a whole bunch of guys who have experienced being in the BBL for years."

"There's a good blend here with good young players like Jamell. I know him personally, he's a good friend of mine. They were all deciding factors for me." "When I spoke to the coach he encouraged me that this is a place where I am going to improve and develop. It's going to be a learning process for me. I know it's a place where you can fun at the same time but work hard." Levi also revealed his dad, Leon, who played in the BBL for the MK Lions for 19 years, has played against our head coach Rob Paternostro.

"My dad's actually played against Coach Rob and he said he's a great guy. He was a great player and he plays in the same position as what I play."

"My dad played in the BBL in 1990s. That's how I got into basketball really. Growing up I played for the London Leopards from aged 13-16, and at 16 I left to go out to the States." In America, Levi attended Towson Catholic High School in Maryland and Notre Dame Prep in Fitchburg before joining Eastern Illinois University, a division one school. He transferred to JUCO Miami Dade for his sophomore year and averaged 13.4 points over 25 games. He was ineligible to go back to play in the NCAA and so made the trip back over the water to join up the Riders.

Levi has national honours at Great Britain Under 20s and England U18s level, averaging 17 points in the 2009 European Championships. "I hope to have a big impact with the Riders. Even if it's not immediately this year, in the next couple of years," said Levi who will wear the no.11 shirt for the 2013/14 season.
