Da'Quan Cook
One Health Sharks Sheffield have completed their pre-season recruitment drive with the signing of Forward Da'Quan Cook (205-F-87, agency: R.H.Consultancy, college: St.Bonaventure).. Da'Quan comes highly recommended to the club by former Sharks forward Paul Williams, who attended the same university, St Bonaventure.

Cook had an impressive end to his career with the Bonnies, averaging 7.6 points per game with 4.6 rebounds in '11-'12 and has also had spells with Hyeres-Toulon in France and Tundja Yambol in Bulgaria.

Speaking of acquiring Cook's services, Sharks Director, Steve Shore said, "We are delighted to have secured the signing of Da'Quan for this year. He is the final piece of the jigsaw that Atiba Lyons has put together and we are confident that he will add another dimension to the roster with his height and athleticism under the basket. We still have one more permit spot available to us, should Atiba need to strengthen the squad during the season."

6' 8" Cook will add height to the Sharks roster that already boasts an impressive forward duo of skipper Mike Tuck and fellow new signing Patrick Horstmann as well as a talented backcourt consisting of Brian Barbour, Jeremie Simmons and GB Under-20 Guard Nick Lewis.

The 25 year old from Elizabeth, New Jersey expects to fly into the UK this week and join his new team mates as the club look to build upon last year's BBL Trophy winning season.

The Sharks began their pre-season on Saturday with a 93-77 win away at Manchester Magic. Captain Mike Tuck led the scorers with 23 points and 9 rebounds. This Saturday sees the Sharks play in a charity match against BBL rivals, London Lions at Fleming Park Eastleigh in support of Liver and Pancreatic Cancer Research and Detection.

The Sharks open their BBL campaign at the English Institute of Sport on Friday 27 September with a game against old rivals, Cheshire Phoenix.
