Sweden overcame Great Britain at the start of the international tournament in Lublin. Jeffery Taylor (200-F-89, college: Vanderbilt) stepped up with 33 points to pace the Scandinavian team.
Sweden grabbed a 27:12 lead after the opening quarter. They maintained the lead throughout the second frame. Sweden accumulated a 48:29 halftime lead. Great Britain returned into the game in the third stanza. They went on a 25:15 rally to narrow the deficit at 9-point mark at the final intermission. But Sweden slowed their opponents down in the fourth period and raced to the victory at the end. Jonas Jerebko (206-PF-87) finished with 19 points, while Anton Gaddefors (200-F-89) added 6 points for Sweden. Eric Boateng (208-C-85, agency: Interperformances, college: Arizona St.) answered with 14 points for Great Britain. Kyle Johnson (195-G-88, agency: SportsTalent, college: LIU Brooklyn) had 13 points in the loss.

Townsville Heat (QBL) added to their roster 27-year old British forward Jamell Anderson (200-90). He just played at Cheshire Phoenix in British BBL league. In 33 games he recorded 10.7ppg, 5.0rpg, 2.5apg and 1.9spg this season. The last season Anderson played at Leicester Riders (also in BBL) where in 34 games he averaged 6.6ppg, 3.2rpg and 1.5apg.
