Finland U16-United Kingdom U16 70:60

Finland and United Kingdom open Second Stage in Sarajevo at the U16 European Championship in Division B. The Nordic side remained undefeated at the tournament with a 70:60 win.
United Kingdom surprised the opponents with a 27:19 start. Finland reduced to 30:31 at the halftime as they won the second period 11-4. England took the bigger lead due to 18-16 rally in the third period, while Finland dominated the end of the game. Lauri Markkanen (200-PF-97) tied the score at 53:53 and Guzman closed the run at 61:53. Finland managed to win the last period 24-11 and improved to 2-0 record in Group E.
Lauri Markkanen top-scored for the winners with 16 points and Riku Laine (194-G-97) as well as Lassi Nikkarinen (176-PG-97) poured in 12 each. Edon Maxhuni (177-PG-98) ended up with 10 points in the winning effort. Joshua Steel (183-SF-97) finished the game with 13 points in a loss, while Akwasi Yeboah (193-F-97) had 12. Aidan Gastaldi-Davies (193-G-97) nailed 11 and Luke Mitchell (180-G-98) scored 7.
