Astana keep Brion Rush (186-G-84, agency: Beo Basket, college: Grambling St.) and David Simon (208-C-82, college: IPFW) for 2013/2014 season.The season 2012-2013 Brion Rush started for ES Chalon-Sur-Saone (France-ProA, starting five) and in Euroleague averaged 13.9ppg, 3.1rpg, 1.1apg, 1.1spg, 2FGP: 38.9%, 3FGP: 46.2%, FT: 73.3%. In French ProA his stats read 14.0ppg, 2.6rpg, 2.8apg, 2FGP: 45.0%, 3FGP: 37.7%, FT: 72.7%. Later that month moved to BC Astana (Kazakhstan-D1, starting five) and shows 17.3 points per game in VTB United League.
David Simon appeared for BC Astana in the beginning of the season. The US centre had an outstanding season with Radnicki Kragujevac. David Simon tallied impressive 19.4 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.4 blocks, 1.2 assists and 1.0 steal per game in Adriatic League. He also notched 14.4 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game in Serbian League. Eurobasket.com named David Simon All-Adriatic League Player of the Year. Previously David Simon had stints in South Korea, France, Russia and Bulgaria. The centre was named into Korean KBL All-Imports Team in 2011. He also made it into Bulgarian League All-Imports Team in 2006. The centre became the Bulgarian Cup and League champion in 2006.

BK Astana (National League) re-signed 27-year old Greek small forward Leonidas Kaselakis (202-108kg-90). He was a team leader there last season. In 6 National League games he averaged impressive 19.0ppg, 8.2rpg, 4.8apg and 1.7spg. Kaselakis helped them to win the league title. He also played 27 games in VTB United League where he had 7.3ppg, 4.7rpg, 1.4apg and 1.1spg. The previous (15-16) season Kaselakis played at Nea Kifisia in Greek A1. Tsmoki-Minsk (Premier League) confirmed in their roster 29-year old international forward Mikita Meshcharakou (201-104kg-88, college: Wake Forest). He played there last season. BK Astana (National League) inked 30-year old American swingman Justin Carter (193-87, college: Creighton, agency: Pensack Sports). He played most recently at Maccabi Kiryat Gat in Israeli Winner League. In 29 games he recorded 14.6ppg, 5.2rpg, 2.2apg and 1.8spg (in top 4) last season.
