Lokomotiv overcame BC Donetsk to sweep the eighth-final series. The game was mostly controlled by Lokomotiv. BC Donetsk managed to win fourth quarter 20-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Lokomotiv looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Lokomotiv made 7 blocks. American-Greek point guard Nick Calathes (198-89, college: Florida) scored 23 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Lithuanian point guard Mantas Kalnietis (195-86, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 15 points and 6 assists during the contest. Four Lokomotiv players scored in double figures. American-Trinidad and Tobago center D'or Fischer (211-81, college: W.Virginia) responded with 14 points and 5 rebounds and Lithuanian power forward Darius Songaila (204-78, college: Wake Forest, agency: Priority Sports) scored 13 points and 4 assists. Nizhny Novgorod outgunned Spartak in Saint Petersburg to tie things up at 1-1 in the series. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 22-11. But Spartak St.Petersburg won third quarter 18-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was Semen Antonov (202-89, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) who scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Power forward Artem Yakovenko (205-88) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds. Greek center Loukas Mavrokefalidis (207-84) produced 13 points and 6 rebounds and American-Bosnian guard Zack Wright (195-85, college: Central Mo.) added 15 points respectively for the hosts. Krasnie Krilya held off Triumph in Samara and booked the quarterfinal ticket. Triumph Lyubertsy was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Triumph Lyubertsy was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. The game was dominated by American players. Guard Chester Simmons (196-82, college: Washington) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Andre Smith (203-85, college: N.Dakota St.) contributed with 11 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. point guard Tywain McKee (188-86, college: Coppin St.) replied with 22 points and 4 assists and forward Tasmin Mitchell (201-86, college: LSU, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) added 9 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Triumph Lyubertsy.
