Neptunas Klaipeda (LKL) signed 31-year old Lithuanian ex-international point guard Arvydas Eitutavicius (188-82, college: American). It is actually his comeback to Klaipeda as he played here before. Eitutavicius played last season at Anwil in Polish TBL league. In 24 games he had 7.1ppg, 1.8rpg and 1.5apg. He helped them to make it to the semifinals.
Eitutavicius ended the previous (2011-12) season at Khimik (Superleague) in Ukraine. In 7 games he recorded 9.6ppg and 2.3apg that season. But the most of that year he spent at BK Prostejov (NBL) in Czech Republic league. The team played in three different competitions (!!!) that year, and Eitutavicius was exposed to basketball on different levels. In 26 NBL games he recorded 9.7ppg, 2.4rpg, 2.5apg and 1.0spg. He contributed to his team making it to the Czech Rep. Cup Semifinals. Eitutavicius also played 6 games in EuroChallenge where he recorded 9.5ppg, 2.2rpg and 2.0apg. He also played 2 games in Eurocup where he recorded 10.5ppg, 2.5rpg and 3.0apg.
The previous (10-11) season Eitutavicius played at Iraklis (B) in Greek league. In 24 games he recorded 7.5ppg, 2.1rpg and 1.5apg.
In 2009-10 season he played at Cholet Basket (ProA) in French league. In 33 games he recorded 6.8ppg, 1.4rpg and 1.8apg. He contributed to his team winning the league title. Eitutavicius also played 6 games in Eurocup where he recorded 9.8ppg, 2.7rpg and 2.2apg.
In 2008-09 season he played at Neptunas. In 19 Baltic League games he recorded 11.4ppg, 3.7rpg and 3.5apg.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as Eitutavicius was voted Eurobasket.com All-Lithuanian LKL Honorable Mention back in 2009. He also represented Lithuania at the Dallas Global Games U21 nine years ago.
Eitutavicius has played previously professionally in Spain (Promobys Tijola) and Lithuania (Silute).
He attended American University until 2007 and it will be his seventh season as a professional player.
Eitutavicius could be described: Arvydas Eitutavicius is an excellent point guard with a great attitude. He is reliable ball handler with a great feel for the game. Arvydas has a knack for making big plays in big moments. He is consistent in knocking down the mid-range jumper and can also step out and drain the three. Arvydas is a deadly shooter from anywhere on the court, especially from beyond the arc where he shoots over 45% and is also automatic from the free throw line. He is extremely dangerous shooting the ball from long range either of the dribble or off a screen. The 188 cm point guard is exceptional at getting into the lane, often finding post players for easy baskets or open shooters for open shots. Arvydas controls the ball and directs his teammates to get the ball to the right person at the right time. He makes smart decisions in traffic that often lead to easy points.
