Kulagin is back at Triumph - Sep 2, 2013

Triumph Lyubertsy (PBL) added to their roster 21-year old international forward Dmitry Kulagin (197-89kg-92). It is actually his comeback to Triumph Lyubertsy as he played here before. He managed to play in three leagues last year. Kulagin played last season at Krasnie Krilya (PBL). In 13 games he had 8.0ppg, 3.0rpg and 1.1apg. Kulagin also played 12 games in EuroChallenge where he recorded 3.7ppg, 1.9rpg and 1.8apg. He helped them to win the EuroChallenge championship. Kulagin also played 19 games in VTB United League where he recorded 5.5ppg and 1.7rpg. He contributed to his team making it to the quarterfinals.
The previous (11-12) season Kulagin played at Triumph Lyubertsy. Similarly like in the last season, the team also played in three different competitions (!!!) that year, and he had a chance to explore basketball on different levels. In 18 PBL games he recorded 8.8ppg, 2.4rpg and 2.5apg. He contributed to his team making it to the semifinals. Kulagin also played 17 games in EuroChallenge where he recorded 7.8ppg, 2.8rpg, 1.9apg and 1.1spg. He contributed to his team making it to the semifinals. Kulagin also played 17 games in Baltic League where he recorded 9.2ppg, 3.3rpg, 3.8apg and 1.2spg. He contributed to his team ending the regular season as at the second position in Baltic League Elite Division.
In 2010-11 season Kulagin played at BC Nizhny Novgorod. Similarly like in the last season, the team also played in three different competitions that year, and he had a chance to explore basketball on different levels. In 20 PBL games he recorded 8.6ppg, 2.4rpg and 1.7apg. He contributed to his team making it to the cup final. Kulagin also played 6 games in EuroChallenge where he recorded 5.0ppg, 2.3rpg and 1.2apg.
Despite young age Kulagin had impressive career. He was voted Eurobasket.com All-World Championships U19 1st Team in 2011.
He has been also a member of Russian international program for some years. Kulagin was a member of both Senior and University National Teams this year and previously for U20 National Team between 2011 and 2012. He also represented Russia at the World University Games in Kazan (Russia) this year. Kulagin's team won Gold.
He has played previously for another Russian team CSKA Moscow.
On Kulagin: One of the brightest young talents in Russia, he has a great scoring ability, even in clutch moments. Also, he plays well at the defensive end, confirming his winning personality.

Tsmoki-Minsk (Premier League) tabbed 23-year old American point guard Sekou Wiggs (193-83kg-94). He just graduated from University of Alaska at Anchorage (NCAA2). He helped them to end the regular season as a second best team in Great Northwest Athletic Conference. They also advanced to the league semifinals. Avtodor Saratov (VTB) landed 23-year old international center Artem Klimenko (214-114kg-94). It is actually his comeback to Saratov as he has played here before. Klimenko played most recently at Unics in Russian VTB league. He managed to play in three leagues last year (!!!). But in 9 Euroleague games he averaged just 1.2ppg and 1.1rpg. Banic leaves Unics - 3 days ago
33-year old Croatian ex-international power forward Marko Banic (205-113kg-84) left Unics Kazan (VTB). Banic played there also last season. In 24 Euroleague games he averaged 4.6ppg and 1.7rpg. He played there also last season. Banic also played 19 games in VTB United League where he had 4.6ppg and 1.9rpg. Among other achievements he played in the final of VTB United League in 2016.
