Antanas
Kavaliauskas
28-year old center Antanas Kavaliauskas (207-C-84, agency: Interperformances) had an amazing evening in the last round for VEF Riga and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 11.
He had a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds, while his team beat Neptunas (#9, 1-10) 94-89. VEF Riga maintains the 3rd position in VTB United League . They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. VEF Riga will need more victories to improve their 8-3 record. It's Kavaliauskas' second year at VEF Riga and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Antanas Kavaliauskas averages this season 9.7ppg and 5.6rpg.

Second best performed player last round was Lynn Greer (186-PG-79) of Azovmash. He is American guard in his first season at Azovmash. In the last game Greer recorded impressive double-double of 20 points and 11 assists. Bad luck as Azovmash lost that game 82-89 to the higher-ranked BC Astana (#5, 6-4). This loss caused Azovmash to drop to 9th position in the standings. 9 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Azovmash managed to get this year. Greer is a newcomer at Azovmash and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 14.8ppg (#8). He also recorded 5.6 assists per game.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Valdas Vasylius (203-F-83) of Neptunas (#9). Vasylius got into 30-points club by scoring 32 points in the last round. Despite Vasylius' great performance Neptunas lost 89-94 to the higher-ranked VEF Riga (#3, 8-3). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Neptunas can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 1-10 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Vasylius he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Vasylius has a very solid season. In 2 games in VTB United League he scored 21.0ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Darius Songaila (204-C/F-78) of BC Donetsk - 20 points and 10 rebounds
5. Bamba Fall (217-C-86) of Kalev/Cramo - 16 points and 12 rebounds
6. Manny Harris (196-G-89) of Azovmash - 24 points and 8 rebounds
7. Kristaps Janicenoks (196-F-83) of VEF Riga - 16 points, 3 rebounds and 8 assists
8. Armands Skele (192-G-83) of Kalev/Cramo - 20 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Branko Cvetkovic (200-F/G-84) of BC Astana - 24 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Milos Teodosic (195-PG-87) of CSKA - 14 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
