Nizhny Novgorod lost Primoz Brezec (216-F/C-79) for the remainder of the season. The Slovenian centre tore muscle in his leg and would be sidelined for the rest of the season. Primoz Brezec struggled with the injury throughout the whole season. He appeared in just six PBL games. His stats read 10.7 points and 5.2 boards. Brezec also notched 12.3 points, 5.2 rebounds per VTB League appearance. Last season Primoz Brezec played for Lokomotiv Kuban.
Nizhny Novgorod will also have to deal without Artem Yakovenko (205-F/C-88) for at least two weeks. He also got injured sustaining sprained ankle. The centre posts 15.2 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists per PBL game. He also notches 11.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists per VTB League appearance.

Krasnie Krilya - CSKA 56-69 CSKA shot down Krasnie Krilya in Samara to clinch the semifinal appearance. The game was mostly controlled by CSKA Moscow. Krasnie Krilya managed to win fourth quarter 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lukic extends with Novgorod - May 20, 2013

Nizhny Novgorod is having a quite good season and they rewarded head coach Zoran Lukic with a 2 year contract extension according to twitter. They reached VTB League QF's after winning series against Spartak St. Petersburg, then managed to beat Zalgris in one but could not escape elimination eventually.
