Dijon
Thompson
29-year old swingman Dijon Thompson (201-G/F-83) put on an amazing game in the last round for N.Novgorod and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 17.
He had a double-double of 24 points and 12 rebounds, while his team edged out VEF Riga (10-7) 89-87. N.Novgorod maintains the 5th position in VTB United League . They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. N.Novgorod will need more victories to improve their 10-7 record. In the team's last game Thompson had a remarkable 80.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be N.Novgorod's top player in his first season with the team. Univ.of Calif.at Los Angeles graduate has very impressive stats this year. Thompson is in league's top in rebounds (8th best: 6.4rpg) and averages solid 61.5% FGP and 41.7% from behind 3-point line.

Second best performed player last round was Lynn Greer (186-PG-79) of Azovmash. He is American guard in his first season at Azovmash. In the last game Greer recorded impressive double-double of 21 points and 12 assists. Bad luck as Azovmash lost that game 77-91 to the higher-ranked Khimky (#1, 13-4). Azovmash managed to keep the same 9th spot in the standings. 14 lost games are too many comparing to just three victories Azovmash managed to get this year. Greer is a newcomer at Azovmash and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to center D'or Fischer (211-C-81) of BC Donetsk (#6). Fischer showcased his all-around game by recording 21 points, eight rebounds and seven assists in the last round. He was a key player of BC Donetsk, leading his team to a 95-79 easy win against Lietuvos rytas (8-9). The chances of BC Donetsk ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 9 games, recording just eight victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Fischer could help BC Donetsk to bring them higher in the standings. Fischer has a very solid season. In 15 games in VTB United League he scored 9.9ppg. He also has 5.9rpg, 1.1bpg and FGP: 62.9%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Tywain McKee (188-PG-86) of Triumph - 18 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists
5. Kyle Landry (207-C/F-86) of Triumph - 21 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Davon Jefferson (204-F-86) of Enisey - 13 points, 16 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Earl Rowland (188-G-83) of VEF Riga - 29 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Petteri Koponen (194-PG-88) of Khimky - 16 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists
9. Zoran Planinic (198-G-82) of Khimky - 12 points and 10 assists
10. Mire Chatman (187-PG-78) of Unics - 19 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
