Cypriot OPAP Basket League round 1 best performance: Malik Curry (by Hoops Agents)

American Guard Malik Curry (185-G-1999, agency: Green Sports Management) had an amazing evening in the last round for Etha, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 1.
The 23-year old player was the main contributor (36 points, eight rebounds and two assists) to his team's victory, helping them to edge out Omonia (#11, 0-1), the league's bottom-ranked team 78-77. Etha is placed at 3rd position in Cypriot OPAP Basket League. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Etha won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. Curry turned to be Etha's top player in his first season with the team. Former West Virginia University star has very solid stats this year. Curry is league's best scorer averaging so far 36.0ppg. Curry is in league's top in and averages impressive 3.0spg and 50.0% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Jordan Dallas (208-C/F-1997) of Omonia. Dallas had a very good evening with a double-double of 22 points and 14 rebounds. Bad luck as Omonia was edged by Etha (1-0) 78-77. The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Dallas is a newcomer at Omonia, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.0ppg (#4). He also registered 14.0 boards per game. Former Seattle University star Dallas is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Omonia's star - American guard Jimmy Sotos (190-G-1998). Sotos showcased his all-around game by recording 23 points, ten rebounds and six assists in the last round. Despite Sotos' great performance Omonia lost 77-78 to Etha (#3, 1-0). The season just started for Sotos as he played only first game. But it already looks like he can be another team's leader.
