Malik Curry claims Cypriot OPAP Basket League Hoops Agents weekly honour

American Malik Curry (185-G-1999, agency: Green Sports Management) had a very impressive game in the last round for Etha and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5.
The 23-year old guard had a double-double of 36 points and eleven rebounds, while his team beat Achilleas K. (#10, 0-3), the league's bottom-ranked team 67-60. Etha is placed at 4th position in Cypriot OPAP Basket League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost two games earlier this season. Etha will need more victories to improve their 3-2 record. In the team's last game Curry had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be Etha's top player in his first season with the team. West Virginia University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Curry is league's best scorer averaging so far 31.0ppg. Curry is in league's top in rebounds (9th best: 8.0rpg), assists (5th best: 4.8apg) and averages solid 3.0spg and 50.8% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American guard Aaron Cook (188-G-1997) of E.N. Paralimni. Cook impressed basketball fans with 29 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Bad luck as E.N. Paralimni lost that game 71-78 to league's leader Apoel (#1, 4-0). E.N. Paralimni is still second from the bottom in the standings. 4 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory E.N. Paralimni managed to get this year. Cook is a newcomer at E.N. Paralimni and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Jordan Dallas (208-C/F-1997) of Omonia (#11). Dallas scored 16 points and grabbed fourteen rebounds (!!!). Despite Dallas' great performance Omonia lost 70-73 to the higher-ranked APOP (#6, 2-1). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Dallas has individually a great season in Cyprus. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 10.6rpg (#1 in league). Dallas attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.
