Cypriot OPAP Basket League round 7 best performance: Malik Curry

American Guard Malik Curry (185-G-1999) put on an amazing game in the last round for Etha, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 7.
The 23-year old player was the main contributor (37 points, six rebounds and two assists) to his team's victory, helping them to crush E.N. Paralimni (#10, 1-6) with 16-point margin 103-87. Etha is placed at 4th position in Cypriot OPAP Basket League. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Etha will need more victories to improve their 4-2 record. In the team's last game Curry had a remarkable 72.7% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 9 attempts. He turned to be Etha's top player in his first season with the team. Former West Virginia University star has very solid stats this year. Curry is league's best scorer averaging so far 32.2ppg. Curry is in league's top in assists (5th best: 4.2apg) and averages impressive 2.6spg and 54.1% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Zacarry Douglas (203-F/C-1995) of league's second-best AEL. Douglas had a very good evening with 20 points and 7 rebounds. Bad luck as AEL lost that game 94-111 to league's leader Apoel (#1, 6-0). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. AEL still maintains its place in the top 2 of the standings, even despite this loss. It was just his team's 1st loss this season, while they won 4 other games. Douglas is a newcomer at AEL, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Etha's star - American guard Mikey Dixon (188-G-1998). Dixon scored 24 points and grabbed nine rebounds. He was another key player of Etha, helping his team with a 103-87 easy win against the lower-ranked E.N. Paralimni (#10, 1-6). Etha needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 4 victories and 2 lost games. Dixon has a great season in Cyprus. After only 6 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 22.3ppg (3rd best).
