#1. Antiguan Jabari Williams, a 6'11'' center and 24-year-old professional basketball player who graduated from Albany State in 2025, has been making notable contributions to his team, Castill de Gorraiz Valle de Egues, in the Spanish Tercera FEB league, which is the fourth division of Spanish basketball. In Saturday night's game, Williams played a crucial role in his team's 89-84 victory over the 11th-ranked Bezana, who hold a 1-4 record. During this match, Williams demonstrated his skills by scoring 9 points, grabbing 7 rebounds, and providing 1 assist in 21 minutes of play, significantly impacting the outcome and helping his team secure the win. Currently, Castill de Gorraiz Valle de Egues holds a 3-2 record and is positioned seventh in Group A-A. This victory marked the team’s third consecutive win, showcasing their growing momentum early in the season. However, as it is still the early stage of the competition, the dynamics of the league remain unpredictable, and many outcomes are still possible. Williams’ performance this season has been steady, averaging 6.2 points per game (ppg) and 4.8 rebounds per game (rpg) across five games. His consistent contributions on both ends of the floor have made him a valuable player for his team, and with performances like the one against Bezana, he has established himself as a champion on the court. While not officially designated a finalist in any tournament yet, his ongoing efforts suggest he could be a key player to watch as the season progresses.
#2. Jordan Simpson, a 6'9" forward and 27-year-old Golden Rams alumnus from the class of 2024, currently playing professionally in the United Kingdom, delivered an outstanding performance leading the Solent Kestrels to a significant victory. On Saturday night, in a British National Basketball League Division One game—the third tier of British basketball—Simpson spearheaded his team to a 72-63 win over the seventh-ranked Barking Abbey (3-4). His leadership and skills on the court earned him the MVP honors for the game. Simpson showcased his impressive talent by scoring 26 points and grabbing 5 rebounds in just 29 minutes of play. This is particularly remarkable given that he is only in his third professional season, yet already making a substantial impact. The Solent Kestrels, with an undefeated record of 6-0, currently hold the second position in Group B of the league standings, having won all six of their regular-season games so far. In the match against BA London L, Simpson’s 26 points were complemented by 5 rebounds and 2 assists, contributions that were crucial in securing the team’s victory. His individual performance throughout the season has been exceptional, boasting impressive averages of 21.5 points per game, 6.5 rebounds per game, 2.0 assists per game, and 4.5 steals per game over the two games he has played this year. Simpson’s consistent high-level play highlights his importance to the Solent Kestrels and his promising career trajectory as a professional basketball player.
