#1. Chris Horton, a 31-year-old center standing at 6'8'' and a graduate of Austin Peay in 2016, is currently playing professionally in Italy. Recently, he played a pivotal role in Umana Reyer Venezia's impressive 90-83 victory over the league-leading Virtus Bologna, with Umana Reyer Venezia being ranked fourth in the Italian Serie A. Despite only scoring 4 points and grabbing 5 rebounds in 10 minutes, Horton's contribution was instrumental in securing the win in a highly anticipated match between two top 4 teams. His performance earned him the title of champion of the game, showcasing his value to the team. Throughout the season, Horton has maintained an average of 7.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game, demonstrating his consistent impact on the court.
#2. Darius Dawson, a 6'6'' small forward and 25-year-old Governors alum from 2025, is a pro player in the East Coast Basketball League (ECBL). Despite his impressive performance, he could not lead the Bailing Brothers (9-5) to victory in their recent game against the PrimeTime Players. The Bailing Brothers suffered a 124-114 defeat on the road, despite Dawson's noteworthy contribution. In the game, Dawson showcased his skills by scoring 24 points, securing 11 rebounds, and also contributing 4 assists and 3 steals. His exceptional performance earned him the Triple-Double Badge from eurobasket.com, recognizing his outstanding abilities on the court. As the regular season in the ECBL comes to a close, Dawson and his team have only one more critical game remaining. Throughout the season, Dawson has maintained high statistics, averaging 17.0 points per game, 11.0 rebounds per game, 3.5 assists per game, and 2.5 steals per game. His remarkable individual season highlights his talent and impact as a player in the league.
