#1. Rog Stein, a 6'6" forward who is 26 years old and graduated from Indiana Tech in 2023, where he earned the prestigious All-WHAC Player of the Year award that same year, is currently playing professionally in Portugal. Recently, he represented Vitoria in the Portuguese Liga Betclic Masculina. Despite his efforts, he was unable to help Vitoria, which holds a 2-3 record, secure a win against Povoa, who have a 3-2 record. In the matchup against Povoa, Stein delivered a solid individual performance, scoring an impressive 6 points and grabbing 8 rebounds while playing 38 minutes on the court. Unfortunately, Vitoria lost the game 68-75 at home to the higher-ranked Povoa, who are currently sixth in the league standings. Although the team fell short, it is important to remember that this is still an early stage of the season, and much can change as the competition progresses. Looking at Stein’s overall performance this season, he has demonstrated strong and consistent stats across five games. He is averaging 14.0 points per game (ppg), 8.6 rebounds per game (rpg)—which ranks as the third best in the league—2.4 assists per game (apg), and 2.2 steals per game (spg), placing him fourth in the league in that category. Stein's contributions on both ends of the floor underline his value as a key player for Vitoria as they continue their campaign.
Other former Indiana Institute of Technology players, who play in pro basketball:
Nigel Martin (6'5''-G, played in 2023-25) plays for San Jose in Peruvian Regional League
Maurice Benson (6'0''-SG-1984, played in 2002-06) played for Mesa Monsoons in the 94x50
Chris Ware (6'8''-C-1989, played in 2011-12) plays for Ads Sentinels in the TBL
