Especially interesting is good performance of Caleb Homesley (27 points), Jayvon Maughmer (12 points), and Jorge Pacheco (14 points).
#1. Caleb Homesley, a 6'6'' forward/guard who graduated from Liberty University in 2020, is currently playing professionally in Turkey. Last Thursday, he led Bahcesehir Koleji Istanbul to a 94-78 victory over Trabzonspor in the Turkish ING Basketbol Super Ligi. Homesley's exceptional performance earned him the MVP title of the game, as he scored an impressive 27 points and made 3 assists in just 30 minutes of play. Bahcesehir Koleji Istanbul, with a record of 21-9, currently holds the third position in the league standings. This marks Homesley's first season with the team, and he has been making significant contributions on the court throughout the year. With an average of 11.6 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game in the 31 games he has played so far, Homesley has been showcasing his skills and determination as a champion. In the recent game against Trabzonspor, Homesley's stellar performance was instrumental in securing the victory for his team. His remarkable display of talent highlights his capabilities and solidifies his position as a finalist in the league.
#2. Jayvon Maughmer, a 24-year-old guard standing at 6'5'' and an alumnus of the Flames from 2025, is currently playing professionally in Poland. He recently showcased his skills by leading Orlen Zastal Zielona Gora to a notable victory over the closely-ranked Arka with a score of 96-89 in the Polish Orlen Basket Liga. In that game, he contributed 12 points and 3 assists during his 32 minutes on the court. Orlen Zastal Zielona Gora, with a current record of 16-14, holds the eighth position in the league standings. During the game against Arka, Maughmer displayed an impressive performance, scoring 12 points, securing 3 rebounds, and distributing 3 assists, ultimately guiding his team to success. His impact on the court was pivotal in achieving the triumph. Throughout the season, Maughmer has maintained solid statistics with an average of 10.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game across 38 appearances.
#3. Puerto Rican Jorge Pacheco, who stands at 6'2'' and is 27 years old, graduated from Liberty in 2020 and played a key role in helping them secure the A-Sun Regular Season Champion title that year. Currently, he plays professionally in Puerto Rico. In a recent game, Pacheco was a major contributor to Atleticos de San German's narrow 90-88 victory over the third-ranked Santeros. He showcased his skills by scoring 14 points and delivering 4 assists in 32 minutes of play. The thrilling match unfolded between two top 3 ranked teams in Group A, with Atleticos de San German (16-9) currently leading the pack. Pacheco's remarkable performance continued in another game against Aguada, where he once again shone by scoring 14 points and providing 4 assists, ultimately helping his team emerge as the finalist. Throughout this season, Pacheco has maintained an average of 8.4 points, 1.2 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game across 25 games. #4. Scottie James Jr., a 6'8'' forward who is 29 years old and an alumnus of the Flames from 2020, played a crucial role in helping his team secure the A-Sun Regular Season Champion title that year. Currently playing professionally in Puerto Rico, he recently contributed to Gigantes de Carolina's narrow 94-93 victory over the second-ranked Vaqueros (16-10) in the Puerto Rican Baloncesto Superior Nacional last Wednesday. In the intense matchup between two of the top 3 ranked teams in Group B, James Jr. showcased his skills by scoring 4 points, grabbing 7 rebounds, and providing 3 assists in a 30-minute game. His performance was pivotal in securing the win for Gigantes de Carolina, who are currently placed third in the standings with a record of 14-10. In another game against Bayamon, James Jr. once again proved his worth by scoring 4 points, grabbing 7 rebounds, and dishing out 3 assists, ultimately leading his team to victory. With an impressive season average of 10.1 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game in eight games, James Jr. continues to demonstrate his capabilities on the court, solidifying his reputation as a true champion.
#5. Theo Johnson, a 6'7'' small forward aged 31, who graduated from Liberty in 2016 and currently plays professionally in the USBL, showcased his skills by leading the Seattle Super Hawks to a dominant victory over the Spokane Lilac City Legends with a final score of 119-86 in the USBL game last Sunday. In an exceptional performance, Johnson was named the MVP of the game after scoring 21 points in just 30 minutes of play. The Seattle Super Hawks, with a season record of 20-1, secured their fifth consecutive victory with Johnson's stellar contribution. This win was crucial as they have only one more game left in the USBL Regular Season, making every upcoming match critical for the team. Johnson's impressive stat line of 21 points, 1 rebound, and 1 assist against Spokane not only led his team to victory but also highlighted his pivotal role in securing the win. His remarkable performance on the court ultimately propelled his team to become the champions of the game. Throughout this season, Johnson has maintained solid averages of 9.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.3 steals per game across 16 games. Prior to his USBL career, Johnson also gained experience as a player in the prestigious Eurobasket Summer League, a top international summer league in the market.
