Real Madrid - Panathinaikos 80-95 Panathinaikos celebrated their seventh Euroleague title. They dethroned Real Madrid at the Uber Arena in Berlin tonight. Kostas Sloukas (191-PG-1990) topscored with 24 points to lead the champions. It was all about Real Madrid in the first period. The Madrid team fired on all cylinders in the quarter scoring 36 points and taking an 11-point lead. But Panathinaikos improved defensively in the second period. The Greek team cut the deficit at 5-point mark at the interval 49-54. Kendrick Nunn (190-SG-1995, college: Oakland, agency: Octagon Europe) sank a three-pointer to give Panathinaikos a 58-56 lead midway through the third stanza. The Greens limited their opponents to just 7 points in the stanza to secure a 64-61 advantage at the final break. Sergio Rodriguez (191-PG-1986) and Sergio Llull (190-G-1987) helped Real cut the deficit to two points 71-73 with just over 6 minutes remaining. But Kostas Sloukas drained back-to-back triples to keep Panathinaikos in charge. Kendrick Nunn and Kostas Mitoglou (210-F/C-1996, college: Wake Forest) stretched the margin at 10-point mark 86-76 with under three minutes to go. Mathias Lessort (206-C-1995, agency: Octagon Europe) hit a bunch of free throws and Kendrick Nunn put an exclamation mark with a dunk as Panathinaikos rallied to the title. Mathias Lessort accounted for 17 points and 6 rebounds, while Kendrick Nunn added 21 points for the winning side.
